Feb 26th from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso then March 11th from Valparaiso to Ft. Lauderdale. We are going on these to celebrate our 25th anniversary. cruiseguysusa Posted January 4, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2011 We have to agree. We are going on the Century for the 4th time in less than two weeks. We have also been on the Solstice, Galaxy and Infinity. We love them all. Cruiseguysusa looks like you guys are doing the B2B on the Infinity Feb. 26th 2012? We are too. To celebrate our 25th anniversary. We'll look forward to meeting other FOD on board. Jeff and Bob Thank you for starting this thread. I thought about it, but was afraid it would get lost or buried since the sailing is 14 months away. I carried the quote over from your post on the other thread. Congratulations on your upcoming 25th anniversary! We celebrate number 23 this year, so we're not far behind. Are you having a cake and the dining staff sing happy anniversary to you on board? :D We've sailed Century, Galaxy, Mercury and Millennium to date. The older Century class is our favourite. There will be other "family" on board the Infinity Feb. 26 and Mar. 11 sailings and should be lots of fun. There are about 16 others we know about who have booked. As far as we know all but one couple will be doing the B2B’s. The group consists of mostly male couples in their 50's, all part of two groups who met for the first time in 2010 on Celebrity Millennium or Mercury. Feel free to PM us. dam1050 Posted January 5, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 5, 2011 Hi guys: Congrats Jeff and Bob on your upcoming anniversary! We're looking forward to meeting you on this exciting upcoming SA cruise in 2012. We're booked for the B2B as well. (We are part of Gary & Chi's mentioned gang from both the Millennium and the Mercury in 2010 who wanted to get together again on the new and improved Infinity for those sailings) We haven't been there before, so it will be all new territory for us. Gary and Chi, we are going to be really pleased to be travelling with you guys once again. I'm sure between now and then we'll find a lot more people joining our list as well --- and possibly a few more from our previous Michael's Club gang who may change their minds, or may find they can get the desired time off work. :) Dave and Paul
bobnjeff Posted January 5, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted January 5, 2011 Great to hear there are so many on board. It is a long time away but something nice to look forward to. Gary and Chi, where are you from in northern Cal? Bob lived in SF many years ago. We will look forward to meeting others on board Jeff and Bob
bobnjeff Posted January 5, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted January 5, 2011 Well, Celebrity did offer the cake so... we may take them up on it. Why not. Are our relationships any less valid then straight ones? We think not. 25 years is 25 years. Actually our anniversary is Oct 10 2011 but this was the cruise we wanted to take to celebrate. cruiseguysusa Posted January 6, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 6, 2011 Hi guys: Gary and Chi, we are going to be really pleased to be traveling with you guys once again. I'm sure between now and then we'll find a lot more people joining our list as well --- and possibly a few more from our previous Michael's Club gang who may change their minds, or may find they can get the desired time off work. Dave and Paul It’s a pleasure traveling with both of you and we’re looking forward to our upcoming adventures. Chi & I have our own personal Guest Services officer. We met her on the Century in November and she’s going to be on the Constellation with us in May and Infinity in 2012. We’ll introduce you. Gary and Chi, where are you from in northern Cal? Bob lived in SF many years ago. Jeff and Bob We live in the Tri-Valley suburbs of the SF East Bay and Sacramento area. Used to live in the “City”, but our company kept moving offices to the burbs and we relocated to avoid the long commute. After this summer we will probably be in the Sacramento area full time for a few years, and afterward is anyone’s guess. We would love to follow Beatrice Mueller’s path and just live on a cruise ship full time. :D Well, Celebrity did offer the cake so... we may take them up on it. Why not. Are our relationships any less valid then straight ones? We think not. 25 years is 25 years. Actually our anniversary is Oct 10 2011 but this was the cruise we wanted to take to celebrate. Jeff and Bob If anything our relationships are better. We have a lower divorce rate. :) Gary
dam1050 Posted January 13, 2011 #7 Share Posted January 13, 2011 We just heard from another couple guys whom we had previously met on the Mercury this past fall, (not CC members) {who live in California} that they will be sailing on the second part of this upcoming B2B as well! :)
bobnjeff Posted January 21, 2011 Author #8 Share Posted January 21, 2011 Has everyone noticed the new deck 11 cabins. That's right, Aft of the mid ship elevators and the new restaurant Qsine that will replace the acupuncture/Conservatory space will be I believe 43 new cabins 7 inside and 36 Aqua Class balcony cabins. We have booked one of the inside cabins for the B2B. We love being up that high with easy access to the resort deck, pools and oceanview cafe. These new cabins will also take over part if not all of the fun factory kids space. No plans are yet available for the redesigned space but the cabins can now be booked. We were just on the Century and stayed on the same deck in fact we have 3 times and love it. Check it out. Jeff
bobnjeff Posted February 4, 2011 Author #9 Share Posted February 4, 2011 We are wondering if anyone else is thinking of doing any other touring before the cruise. We are looking into getting South America passes from LAN and seeing a bit more before the cruise. We are looking into Machu Pichu, Easter Island and Iguazu Falls. Any thoughts? Has anyone done any of these places? Jeff and Bob
bobnjeff Posted May 29, 2011 Author #10 Share Posted May 29, 2011 Just thought I would move this up since no one has been on in a while. Noticed a couple doing the second cruise on the regular postings. We are still on track. Booked a flight to Bogota on LAN then we are doing a South America Pass with flights to Lima and on to Machu Pichu and then on to Iguazu Falls then to BA for a couple of days before the cruise. A lot of traveling so we will be a bit worn out by the time we get to the ship but.... should be great to see it all.
kennetro Posted May 29, 2011 #11 Share Posted May 29, 2011 We're jealous of you all! We just got off Infinity about 6 weeks ago. (South America route also.) If you go to the Martini Bar, you are likely to meet the most wonderful staff member (waitress) we have ever encountered. She's Jamaican, and her name is "Rowena". We love, Loved, LOVED that woman. Couldn't wait to get to the martini bar every night, just to visit with HER!! Please give her a big hug from "Ken & Ray" & tell her we miss her!! Have a great trip. cruiseguysusa Posted January 12, 2012 #12 Share Posted January 12, 2012 About a month and half away from the cruise and trying to resurrect the thread as we get closer to the February 26 departure. We're arriving prior to the cruise and spending a couple of nights at the Axel Hotel-Buenos Aires. Our first time there, but highly recommended. Any one else arriving early and planing tours prior to boarding the ship?
bobnjeff Posted February 3, 2012 Author #13 Share Posted February 3, 2012 Had to cancel back in Nov. But... the new low rates brought us back. We already had our flights so... We are arriving in BA on the 24th and staying at the Awwa Suites and Spa. We are only doing the 1st cruise to Santiago. We will be doing a lot before the cruise going to Machu Pichu and Iguazu before so it will be nice to relax on the Infinity. Hopefully there will be a good group of FOD on board.
