PA Dutchman Posted January 11, 2011 #26 Share Posted January 11, 2011 I'm not sure what you have to have but DW qualified for casino cash ($100) and a premium bon voyage package. In addition we received a bottle of wine during the week at dinner and many free drinks while in the casino. She earned over 6000 points (6 $10 credits) on our last cruise and over 8000 on this one. DH spent way more on the tables but didn't get the perks that the slots paid. Thats about right, Carnival has a record of all your play if you put in your sail and sign card. You have to be at least over 2500 points per cruise. We have had 6 to 8000 per cruise over the years. We have been getting cruise deals worth up to $1250. cash from the casino per cruise. They are special cruises, players club cruise, you get invited because of the amount of play. then you get all kinds of stuff. Free drinks, drawings, wine and VIP if you are not platinum. There are a few ships trying if you get 1500 points you get free drinks for the rest of the cruise in the casino. You must be playing a slot. If you go to 2500 you get one for a friend for the rest of the cruise. we get several free pictures and 8 free drinks to be used anywhere on the ship. Alot better perks then Platinum or Milestone. PA Dutchman Posted January 11, 2011 #27 Share Posted January 11, 2011 I have never contacted Players Club and they have had all the perks, as mentioned above waiting for me in my cabin on the first day. I have also never introduced myself to the floor manager and he or she has always given me and my husband free drinks from the bar. The scary part is they come up to me and introduce themselves and they know my name. I have also received in the mail a welcome aboard can't wait to see you card from Players Club with my sail date on it. I think they want their money back! Your name shows on the slot machine.
PA Dutchman Posted January 11, 2011 #28 Share Posted January 11, 2011 So do they offer the free drinks after 1500 points on every ship in the fleet now? Seems like it was a successful trial but I cant seem to find confirmation of that. I will be on the Conquest so I'm mainly interested in that...but of course it would be good to know. It was on the Valor New Year cruise but not on the Imagination the first week of Jan. Some ship casinos are trying it but not all.
skippyy Posted January 11, 2011 #29 Share Posted January 11, 2011 Thanks for your post, OP..It reminded me to call (I am cruising 30 Jan). They said I have 200 dollars coming when I get on board. Does this mean I play (win/lose) alot or is this an average dollar perk ? Anyone know the range of perks ? Thanks again.....
cruisinthemed Posted January 12, 2011 #30 Share Posted January 12, 2011 I will receive a bon voyage pkg. to include a gift basket with a photo coupon, bottle of wine, fruit basket & 2 large bottles of water. It was worth the call. I love getting perks. I will call them before every cruise, from now on.

We just got off the Dream and my husband plays table games only and we inquired but they say that you have to bet at the $25 tables. Which he was not using. He played a long time and pretty much broke even between black jack and texas hold em. He didn't get anything. But.....we never really talked to any host, so don't know if that would make a difference. Just the dealers. Good Luck, he had a good time anyway!! I spoke to OPC about Texas Hold 'Em and they do not rate those players. So even though I played (dealerless) for hours each night on a 7 day cruise I received 0 credit. I did do fairly well so I guess that's my perk :D.

Cathy p Posted January 26, 2011 #37 Share Posted January 26, 2011 We just came off the Liberty on 1/22 and they gave us $15 off a photo of our choice and chocolate covered Strawberrys. HUM not much for all the game over's I have looked at on my Carnival cruises.:D
mcwebber Posted January 26, 2011 #38 Share Posted January 26, 2011 We will also be on the Conquest cruise with you. Even before the 1500 points program in the casino was launched, Carnival has been generous with their free drinks in the casino. I remember we started getting free drinks from the casino hosts back in 2008. On one cruise, the hosts were offering both of us so many drinks that we were turning them down. in fact, we ended up sending the casino host and one of the slot technicians flowers at the end of the cruise, because they were a lot of fun to be around, and they were very nice with the drink offers. They ended up sending us so much wine at dinner that I ended up giving the host a bottle of wine I had brought on board. I wish Dana and the Elation had never left Port Canaveral. The casino can only make a small amount off of poker and it depends widely on the size of the pot and number of players, unlike games where you're playing against the house. Poker players in any casino don't get the perks that blackjack players get.

Poker players in any casino don't get the perks that blackjack players get. Have to disagree. The Texas Hold 'Em table is dealerless, so no costs for staff. They take a percentage of each hand played up to a maximum rake. They can make as much on these games as they can on slot machines. Now they don't have as many table games as they do slot machines, so overall slots brings in the $.

Poker players in any casino don't get the perks that blackjack players get. I spent hours playing Black jack on my last cruise and did not get "points" My card was given to the pit boss to be rated, but apparently there was an error in recording my rate of play as according to OPC, I did not have any points available. According to OPC, you need to play $25.00 hands (avg) for a minimum of 4 hours each night to accumulate points. And your points are only good for a 24 month period. The rewards and point system is geared towards the slots players since those machines favor the house.
roseaxel Posted March 23, 2011 #43 Share Posted March 23, 2011 But best of all, when I entered my cabin for the first time, there was a letter stating I "earned" the free drink card they are now giving out for earning 1,500 points on a cruise. So when I went to the casino that night, they attached the card to my sign and sail card. Waiters literally stopped by every 5 minutes to see if I needed something. Forget all the other stuff - that was the best perk!:D OMG, is this for all Carnival cruises? DH and I typically earn about 5,000 points each on our cruises. I am so hoping I get a card from CPC saying I get a free drink card. Someone, please confirm this.
PA Dutchman Posted March 26, 2011 #44 Share Posted March 26, 2011 On the Vaor in Jan when I hit 1500 pt Sunday night I went to the cage and they got a person that filled out a card to hang on my S&S card so the booze sellers could bug me every 5 min. When I hit 2500 I got a card for the other half. We are not big drinkers but we did on that cruise. You must be playing a slot to get the free drinks. We were told they were only doing this as a test on a few ships. It was nice but you pay for it.

Certainly not per square foot or per person, which are the way casinos measure it. What's the maximum pot? How much is the casino rake? How much per hour can they make from that? Someone can pump hundreds of dollars an hour through a $1 slot machine with the casino basically guaranteed a percentage of the money bet.
