Half Pint Posted January 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2011 This will be our first cruise and I'm a bit confused as to how tendering works in regards to excursions. Do passengers on ship-sponsored excursions get priority when it comes to tendering, or do they have to line up to receive a number to disembark? Thank you! :)
mrpayroll Posted January 8, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2011 I've been on some where you do get priority and some where you don't. I guess it depends on the time of your excursion.

Thank you! :) Yes, ship sponsored excursions get priority. Everyone else that wants off early before general open tendering is announced usually go to a specified lounge for a tender ticket. Then you go down to usually deck zero forward when your tender number is called.
*Mach* Posted January 8, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2011 If you have an early excursion, Carnival sponsored or not, they will get you off the ship in time. As was mentioned by Janey, you'll likely gather in the forward lounge to get a ticket for debark. Let pretty much anyone of the Carnival staff know that you have an early excursion and they'll get you off... not first, mind you, but off in time for your excursion... :)

daddybuff Posted January 8, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 8, 2011 Do platnium cruisers get early tickets or do they just go down to deck 0 and flash their s&s card?
nybumpkin Posted January 8, 2011 #7 Share Posted January 8, 2011 So even on a ship sponsored excursion that starts in the morning, you need to get a ticket to disembark? :)The last time we tendered and took a ship's excursion, they just asked us to go to the main lounge with our excursion tickets. No separate tender ticket.

Go to the pursers desk (VIP line) and they will escort your group to the front of the line at any time.......no tickets required....ahh good to be platinum:D
