TOgal65 Posted January 9, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2011 It looks like it will be Mahogany Bay. Check out their website: http://www.mahoganybaycc.com/port-schedule.aspx
janflan Posted January 9, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2011 Just followed your link to Mahogany Bay, and I'm sorry but it sounds awful! It's an artificial 'Disneyfied' port designed to make us spend our money on either our own ship's excursions or in Carnival's manufactured 'village'. Very little of any of the money that we spend will go into the pockets of Roatans, how will this tourism benefit the locals? Most of the independent excursion companies pick up from the old port which makes it difficult to do anything except use the ship's excursions. edwardteach Posted January 9, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2011 Hi janflan, You too don't like the American Dream either then. Let's hope that they don't get into Cuba. That said most of the Caribbean is heading that way. When they've all got like St Maarten & St Thomas I'll call it a day. ET

jessie36 Posted January 9, 2011 #8 Share Posted January 9, 2011 we were due to stop at mahogany bay but due to the wind we stopped at the second port in Roatan. We found this ok and infact Honduras was one of our favourite stops.:)
burtonm Posted January 10, 2011 #9 Share Posted January 10, 2011 As Jessie36 says the Christmas trip went into the other port, We enjoyed our stay there, particularly the close proximity of the terminal bar to the ship and the mini bus trip taken from outside the terminal area. All the vendors are in kiosks so they cannot accost you, you have to go to them. Originally quoted $30 for the trip, we walked away. The boss lady dropped the price by $5 on our return. Sorry I cannot give you a company name, the kiosk was second or third from the end on the right hand side. Good luck
