jwarhank Posted January 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2011 We are flying in to IAH with part of our group arriving on concourse A and some on concourse C. We are to meet the others on Concourse A for our transport to Galveston. Is there an easy way for us to get from concourse C to concourse A after we have gathered our luggage? nonna5 Posted January 9, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2011 There is a tram that connects all the terminals. I am not sure if you are able to access them once you have claimed your luggage. Maybe someone else will know the answer to that question. If not then you will only be able to access terminal C to terminal A by vehicle I think. They are not within walking distance of each other from luggage claim.
jwarhank Posted January 9, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted January 9, 2011 That's exactly what I need to know --- can we access the tram once we have received our luggage. If there is no other way, then I will ask our shuttle drive to stop at both concourses, but would rather not do that. Thanks for your quick reply. nonna5 Posted January 9, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2011 I do not know if you can access the tram once you have claimed your luggage. I live in Houston and of course have never had to do this. I am sure the shuttle driver would not mind stopping at both terminals. By car it will only take a couple of minutes to stop by both. I have had to pick people up at both terminals before. Very easy to do. Also this would be much easier than taking your luggage on the tram.
jwarhank Posted January 9, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted January 9, 2011 I have just contacted Royal Carriages and asked them to make two stops for us. Thanks for the input. Much appreciated.
spongerob Posted January 9, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 9, 2011 You're correct - you have to be inside the secured area to use the train. It's a very long walk from C to A.
yst347 Posted January 10, 2011 #7 Share Posted January 10, 2011 IAH has an airside elevated train and a streetside tram that connect the terminals. Just go down one level from baggage claim to reach the tram.
