Flavours of Barbados is a great and very popular tour offered by F.U.I (Facilitators Unlimited Inc.) - though I believe it is currently only offered to cruise passengers and may not be on their website, you can still book this and other tours over the website on www.facilitatorsunlimited.com or email facilitators@sunbeach.net

I thought the Flavours of Barbados tour was just OK. I took this tour almost two years ago, so I can't remember all of the details.

The Sunbury plantation house was interesting. A guide gave us an overview of the house and took us on a quick tour. Then, we were left to explore on our own. The basement area had an old carriage, leather saddles, and instruments for blacksmithing. Also, I think it had some old weapons and farming instruments. You can find more information at http://www.barbadosgreathouse.com/history.cfm.

I was a bit disappointed in the visit to the rum factory, which is named Foursquare Rum Distillery. It didn't seem as authentic to me as other rum factories that I've visited in the Caribbean. However, the grounds were beautiful as was the drive through the sugar cane fields to the distillery. We were given rum to sample at the end of a guided tour. You can find more information at http://www.life-n-styles-barbados.com/foursquare-rum-distillery-and-heritage-park.html.

Medford Craft World was the third stop. The owner's name is Reggie. We all sat around in chairs while he told us how he got his mahogany wood-working business started. Also, he showed us samples of his work and the process it takes to create something. Next, we were given a quick tour of the facility. The bottom floor of the building is where they make the mahogany wood pieces, and the top floor is a store where we could browse and make purchases. Reggie will sign anything that you buy, and he also took pictures with anyone who asked. The web site is http://www.medfordcraftworld.com/.
