DTAATD Posted January 20, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2011 If you Google Sea Princess Dry Dock you will find a number of references. One that is especially intriguing is that National Geographic apparently did a documentary of the most recent refurbishment of the Sea Princess. MTJSR Posted January 20, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2011 As said above, National Geographic taped a show called "Worlds Toughest Fixes" and it showed the repairs and changes made during drydock. Most of the show dealt with a leaking propeller shaft seal which ended up being due to a pinched water line that runs the length of the shaft. I live in the bay area and happened to watch them lowering Sea Princess back into the water following her drydock. They then took her out into the bay and ocean for sea trials, which was interesting to watch, because you never see a cruise ship going so fast in the bay or turning sharp turns. Would of been a fun ride.

I said, When did they build this bridgge? “Would it be cheaper to fly to California and then take the train to Hawaii?”
DTZSCruise Posted August 13, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Does anyone know when Sea Princess is scheduled for her next "dry dock," and what it will entail? I notice that Sun Princess went into dry dock today. http://www.usatoday.com/story/cruiselog/2013/08/12/sun-princess-cruises-makeover/2642093/

DTZSCruise Posted August 14, 2013 #10 Share Posted August 14, 2013 Thanks for the link. It must be out of date, Princess is selling cruises for the time frame when the link thinks Sea Princess will be in dry dock. Thank again.
GHDPeter Posted August 14, 2013 #11 Share Posted August 14, 2013 Yes She has Cruises right up to 24 May 2015. That might be the next Dry Dock 24 May 2015 in Brisbane, thats where the Dawn had hers in May last year. We will have to wait and see, hopefully they will make changes along the same lines as the Sun.
