robtulipe Posted January 21, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2011 The doorman should be able to easily get a taxi for you. It should be around $7.50 plus tip according to this web site. http://www.worldtaximeter.com/los-angeles?to=San+Pedro+Cruise+Terminal&from=Crowne+Plaza+San+Pedro&time=12-25&phone_booking=
Wineaux Posted January 21, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2011 it's less than a mile to get from the CP to the Port. If you are healthy and don't want to wait you can walk it as well.

According to the web site I provided it's 2.28 kilometers, almost 1 1/2 miles, to the entrance of the port so likely it is around2 miles to the terminal as I recall having to go through a very large area for parking to get to it. Add in having luggage doesn't make walking there very doable.
Wineaux Posted January 21, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 21, 2011 hmmmmmmmm...according to mapquest it is .80 miles to the cruise entrance and maybe another .25 miles to check-in. I walk this every week and it's definitely not 2 miles. If your luggage has wheels and you are in decent shape walking this is no big deal as I see folks do it all the time. Here is a link to Yahoo maps which shows it to be .79 miles to the entrance. http://maps.yahoo.com/#mvt=m&lat=33.74361&lon=-118.28049&zoom=16&q1=601%20s%20palos%20verdes%20san%20pedro%2090731&q2=swinford%20and%20harbor%20blvd%2090731

It is located at the corner of 6th and Palos Verdes which is much closer. :)
dan-mish Posted January 21, 2011 #8 Share Posted January 21, 2011 Wineaux, Would you recommend the Crowne Plaza over the Doubletree? Which is in a better location? Do you know if either will allow us to park our cars there while we cruise? Dan
Wineaux Posted January 21, 2011 #9 Share Posted January 21, 2011 Wineaux, Would you recommend the Crowne Plaza over the Doubletree? Which is in a better location? Do you know if either will allow us to park our cars there while we cruise? Dan Depends on what you are looking for. Crowne Plaza is Downtown and closer to restaurants and shoppes. Doubletree is a nice hotel but is more secluded out in the marina. At the CP you can walk to most destinations while you would have to rely on the DTI shuttle to get you around town. As far as I know both hotels offer parking packages for cruise passengers but hopefully someone else can give you the pros and cons of each one from their own first-hand experience. Welcome to San Peeeedro!!! :D
dan-mish Posted January 21, 2011 #10 Share Posted January 21, 2011 Wineaux, Thanks for the info. We are looking forward to the visit (and cruise). We might even try San Pedro Brewing Company for the brew. Dan

I did that search again with the exact addresses since I now have both as I am picking up a car prior to our cruise at the CP and got 1.16KM or about 3/4 of a mile to the entrance of the cruise terminal. I guess you can't believe all the information you get on the internet. I'm not surprised by this. http://www.worldtaximeter.com/los-angeles?to=San+Pedro+Cruise+Terminal&from=Crowne+Plaza+San+Pedro&time=12-25&phone_booking
