chiquitacobbe Posted November 19, 2014 #276 Share Posted November 19, 2014 Thanks for the quick responses. I will try and call tomorrow and see what they say. I'll post back to let everyone know. cruzinlady1947 Posted November 19, 2014 #277 Share Posted November 19, 2014 I had a similar situation, only in reverse. I downgraded from an ocean view to inside and they reduced our OBC. So, I would assume you would get the increase in OBC. Gwen :)
chiquitacobbe Posted December 6, 2014 #278 Share Posted December 6, 2014 Does anyone know the answer to this? I booked a 7night cruise on board a past cruise and booked only an inside cabin. So I received the $25 OBC. Final payment has passed and the price has dropped and I was able to call and change to a balcony cabin for no extra cost. Should my OBC change from $25 to $100 now? Just curious since I have a balcony cabin now. Or does it only go by what I originally booked at the time on board. Thanks Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app I just finally checked and they automatically increased the OBC from the $25 to $100. Woohoo! Shockingly it was done automatic. Now I'm hoping when I board this cruise my status is changed from Diamond to Damond plus. Just turned last week on Liberty Thanksgiving cruise . So in two weeks when I board Oasis I will be D+. Hopefully all is updated. Fingers crossed. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
TheMiz Posted December 17, 2014 #279 Share Posted December 17, 2014 I would think that you should have gotten the additional OBC. BUT, RCI has no many hidden policies that are not published or available to the general public. I would call C&A (1-800-526-9723) and find out. Effective March 15, 2014, the new OBC amounts when booking a Next Cruise on board (formerly known as a Future Cruise booking).OBC is per cabin. Length of Cruise ............... Interior.............. On Next Cruise Cert. bought before that date, can't get those new credits can they ? RCI has now further confused their already confusing policies by using "Next Cruise" to refer to booking an actual cruise onboard - those are the OBC amounts that Patti posted. I can't remember what they are calling the old NC - Future Cruise Credit, or something like that. Those have the lower OBC that render them almost worthless to many. THANKS in advance!! With regard to combination, the balcony discount can be combined with the fake sale discounts. However, it will appear that you are not getting the full balcony discount, because they will take off the balcony discount first, and then the 30% off. So the 30% off will be applied to a smaller number. When the fake sale is 60% off the second guest, that works out better since the balcony discount is applied to the first guest, you end up getting the full balcony discount. tigstoy Posted April 28, 2017 #289 Share Posted April 28, 2017 We were not able to apply our balcony discount to either booking we made in January and March due to the "promotions" they were running without choosing one over the other. I think one had $50 onboard credit and the other had $100.
