MR Excursions - Wait Until At Port?

Just wondering if there would be any chance that we could wait for excursions until we got off the ship at Cabo and Puerta Vallarta? We are a group of 8 sailing on DCL on Feb 13 and we are all undecided on what to do. We have 2 stops at Cabo and 1 at Puerta Vallarta. When we were in Nassau in the summer, there were so many people just off the ship offering taxis, tours, etc. Would there be anything like that in Cabo or PV? We are interested in the whale watching in Cabo for sure and maybe swimming with the dolphins, but not sure what to do in PV. We are travelling with 2 children (6 & 8).

Thanks for your help!

We walked off of the ship in PV and booked horseback riding for our entire family at a booth in the reception area. For $40 per person we received roundtrip taxi tranportation to the ranch, a wonderful horseback rise (2+) hours and a really interesting narrative from our guide. We really enjoyed the trip and the view from the top of the pass was amazing. We could see all of Banderas Bay including our ship. The horses were well-mannered and well-cared for. It was a great day!

There are several (actually way more than several) tour operators in both Cabo and PV. We have done whale watching in Cabo (Pez Gato and Eco are the best--they are walking distance from the cruise port) and swimming with dolphins in PV (requires a taxi ride). The only real risk you run by waiting until you get there is that some of the more popular times could already be booked.

You will find about 10 times as many as you did in Nassau! The only ones you would have to worry about already being full are ones like the pirate ship and things like that as they are limited in capasity but there will be PLENTY of glass bottomed boats, whalewatching,ATV tours, city tours, ziplining and all of the usual suspects still available. The dolphin place is literally right on the boardwalk in Cabo, you can't miss it.
