If you REALLY want to compare HAL with Oceania

Consider this:

Passengers sailing on the Maiden Voyage of the Marina, yesterday, learned that in honor of the festive occasion, Oceania would not be charging for house wines and spirits during the voyage.

What a lovely gesture. How much nicer is it because it was unpublicized?

Speaking as a passenger who canceled the Maiden Voyage of HALS' Eurodam because of the crude, grasping, attitude which corrupted every aspect of that cruise (ask me, someday, how HAL tried to wring $4000.00 out of us, to see the ship christened) , I have one thing to say...

Class will tell.

Class always tells. HAL is losing theirs and it's a shame.

Gramps

Sadly true.

We had high hopes just after Carnival bought HAL because their money built some beautiful ships and at first they weren't interfering with the onboard experience at all.

But today, it's just Carnival with less neon in the public rooms.

After three HAL sailings & five O sailings, I can confidently state that there is no comparison. And my HAL sailings were before Carnival got their grubby hands on the line.

Regarding the complementary libations, didn't know that O had "house" spirits since I only drink vino....aand a little brandy.:D
