terry2 Posted January 25, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2011 Hi, all you experts. We are about to go on the red sea magic, and plan to do the main excursions (petra, cairo, luxor). Now we understand that you can use dollars, and euros for tips, so the question is how much are we likely to need for tips on these trips? Thanks in advance
L & S Posted January 25, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2011 Hi. We are also going on this cruise on the 27th Jan. I thought I had read somewhere that £1 or $1 or 1 euro was acceptable, but will hope that someone will let us know for sure.

jodanuke Posted January 26, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2011 Tips are optional so just give what you want to give, if any.

Agreed, but my problem is that I've almost run out of small dollar bills and euros, and I just wanted an estimate of what I was likely to need, so I could go and get enough suitable currency. davecttr Posted January 31, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 31, 2011 If the tour guide is OK I usually bung them 5 dollars or euros. For a longer tour with a really good guide I don't mind forking out a tenner. It is better to take dollars rather than euros as you can get 1 dollar bills and they like paper money.
