Tazsamp Posted January 27, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Good morning, I would suggest you read Trainman's "Live" report from the Allure (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1343766, hopefully this link works). He is always very thorough and entertaining with his reviews, and I also believe he is a smoker, so the areas where it is allowed will be addressed. I don't think he's posted a synopsis of these areas yet, but I believe he will as someone has already specifically asked him this question. Hope this helps and enjoy...it'll give you a bit of a preview of life on board the Allure.
bibbysnow Posted January 27, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2011 I do know that you can only smoke on the ocean view balconies. You can't smoke on the Boardwalk Balcony or the Central Park Balcony. Barbara

Not sure who brought the ash tray but one would assume the room steward.
kykats Posted January 28, 2011 #7 Share Posted January 28, 2011 You can smoke in Dazzles, Boleros and in the Casino. You can smoke out by the pool on the Starboard side. They also have a Cigar Under the Stars affair at night. Lovely. The Promenade stinks thanks to Boleros. It also filters up to the open front Diamond Lounge making it uninhabitable for the sensitive. Smokers ruin the world.

Cruising89143 Posted January 28, 2011 #9 Share Posted January 28, 2011 so that means some captains and crew that smokes ruin the cruise,i am a smoker and i love the smoking policy that allure and oasis have it fair the thing is non smoker what the ship for them self but guess what it not gonna happen rccl is not gonna change it I just spent two weeks on Allure and am sensitive to smoke and it never bothered me at all. The only time that I smelled smoke was entering Boleros and Dazzles to snap photos. I never smelled it out on the Royal Promenade. I think that RCI is more than fair to us non smokers. We have plenty of places aboard to enjoy smoke free.

Both groups should have the opportunity to enjoy their vacation equally.
kykats Posted January 29, 2011 #11 Share Posted January 29, 2011 The majority of states have smokefree workplaces, as well as entire countries. Nobody should have to risk his/her health to hold a job. Smoking should never be allowed in indoor spaces. The cruise ships will eventually have to realize this, as it's becoming the norm in the modern world.
Elizanessie Posted January 29, 2011 #12 Share Posted January 29, 2011 On 12/1 & 12/5 sailings smoking was allowed in the Pub on the Royal Promenade...but only at the bar. In Boleros there are 5 tables on the right hand side where smoking is allowed.
