harp67 Posted January 27, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Its our first cruise on the Golden Princess and have booked a BD cabin. Are there any cabins that are better than others - for example quieter. So are the rooms near the stairs/elevators always noisy or is this a quiet deck? boboraji Posted January 27, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2011 We were on the Golden in 2009 and were about 5 cabins from the front on the Baja deck and loved it. Very quiet, not much foot traffic and far away from stairs/elevators. We are leaving for the Caribbean Saturday and again, booked a balcony on the Baja deck way forward. We don't mind walking the ship constantly getting to and from.

We always book a cabin on Baja (unless we get a great deal on Caribe) forward, right near the elevator/stairs. Never hear any noise.
obnurse Posted January 29, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 29, 2011 We tend to book aft on Baja, often near the elevators and have never had a noise problem. We have loved every cabin on every cruise on every ship!
FritzG Posted January 29, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 29, 2011 Baja is our favorite deck too. We prefer mid-ships to slightly aft balconies.
harp67 Posted January 29, 2011 Author #6 Share Posted January 29, 2011 Thanks everyone. We have been allocated one next to the stairs and were a little concerned as there appears to be 2 lots of doors next to the cabin on the deck plan. Our TA reassured me it wouldn't be noisy and your comments have certainly put my mind at rest - thank you for taking the time to answer. :)
