AmoMondo Posted January 29, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 29, 2011 Does MSC have a dept. similiar to Carnival's Bon Voyage Dept. where one can order liquor via phone prior to sailing or it is just limited to beer and wine?, I'm not familiar with the Carnival programme but can tell you that the only pre-ordering of alcohol with MSC is by pre-ordering a drink package e.g. all inclusive; unlimited; or specific drinks ones like the wine. Not sure about the system in the US but I believe you go in to the Already booked section on the website and then special services. You will find info there on what's available and what the process is for buying it. Please note that the only drink packages that can be bought onboard are the books pf vouchers for wine, berr, cocktails etc. You cannot buy all inclusive, unlimited or the other packages specified on the web onboard. Yes, you can call MSC, I just did it this weekend. Ordered 3 beer packages and a wine package. I received a confirmation by e-mail not 3 minutes later. Beer works out to $3.36 each with service charge included.:D
JoeO Posted March 9, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2011 Not 100% sure but.... I think that any time you buy liquor while still docked (before the cruise) you will pay tax. Drinks while cruising are not taxed altho' all get a 15% gratuity automatically added on. Joe O
