Southampton UK Marriott

Has anyone stayed at the Meon Valley Marriott in Southampton?? Any info good or bad would be helpful? How is its location? Distance from the Cruise Port?

Google map shows it as being around 11 miles from the Port. It is outside the City.

I have stayed there and it is a Golf Resort and a rather rambling building. Rooms and facilities are standard Marriott and you cannot go far wrong. About 14-15 miles away with little going on in the area.

 

If you are only there as an overnighter for your Cruise then I personally would stay in Southampton where there are many good hotels including the Harbour (DE Vere Hotels). There is also a Hilton on the edge of Town but I have always found it difficult to access as its just off the Motorway.
