kerrytens Posted February 6, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2011 Nice to hear Puchi! Glad you and your family had such a good time onboard the Epic. I was wondering if you could go into a bit more detail about what you really liked about the ship and food please. Did you see any shows? What category room(s) were you in? Thanks again for sharing your excitement:)
PJames Posted February 6, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2011 Question: Do the TVs (in a balcony cabins) have red-white-yellow inputs? We're heading off this weekend. :) OOPS. I read (elsewhere) that the Epic TVs do have A/V ports, but they're (probably) disabled (?)

drdaddy Posted February 7, 2011 #7 Share Posted February 7, 2011 Puchi, See. Now look what you have done. We ALL want to know about your experiences and we have pretty specific questions for you. First, glad to hear it sounds lilke you had a great time. #1 important issue! Did you do East or West? If you did West, do you remember which dock Epic was at in Cozumel and Roatan? And if you did West, any chance of getting the Dailies posted? Spme of us are just too anal not to plan ahead. Shoot, we all know the food is good and the entertainment wonderful. It is the little things that go unanswered sometimes. Thanks

Ive never been on the Epic but all the other NCL ships I have been on do have the ports for a dvd layer and they ARE NOT disabled. My husband and I watched a movie every night! Robert Peel Posted February 8, 2011 #10 Share Posted February 8, 2011 Just got home Saturday after seven days on the Epic. We were a party of 11 travelling together and spread out over the ship. One couple, plus four teenage boys (13-17 yrs) stayed in a Courtyard Villa, a second couple with two children (18 and 24 yrs) in a family balcony on the 14th floor and myself staying in a studio on the 12th floor. This is my second NCL cruise, having sailed on the Jewel last year. This year, as with last, I was impressed from the time that I arrived at the pier until the time that I left the ship. The service that all of us received was nothing short of first class. I saw how my friends were treated in the Villa's and I can attest that I received the same treatment throughout my cruise, wherever I went, as did my friends on the 14th floor. The NCL Staff onboard were quite positive and sincere in their interactions with us. Having read previous reviews about poor treatment by staff members I am at a loss to understand that occuring as not one of our group experienced that throughout the entire cruise. Food was consistently quite good; ranging from excellent in the Epic Club, from good to very good in the main dining rooms, and good in the Garden Cafe. The Pub was a welcome addition for all in our group and was used at all hours with consistent good food being served and excellent service by the wait staff. Entertainment and the clubs were visited nightly by the older group and enjoyed. The kids had non stop activities to keep themselves busy and we did not see them from morning until dinner time, or when they were changing from shorts to bathing suits. The only minor complaint I had was that the smoke in the casino became an issue if you stayed there for 30 minutes plus. What appeared to me was that because of the low ceilings only a few cigarettes could cause a strong smell of smoke. While they had smoke eaters throughout the casino a few more in the ceilings to draw the smoke away would be an asset. I enjoyed the Studio concept and the services offered. There was great interaction every evening in the living room and our bar area and if you were bored on this cruise you only had to look in the mirror to blame someone. The space in my Studio room was quite adequate for myself and the bed comfortable. (I am 6'3"). Overall a great trip that we all would repeat.
