Life Boat Drills

On one Carnival cruise with my wife's invalid father, the cabin steward just told us to stay in the cabin during the drill. I doubt that he had the authority to do that, but we skipped muster and never heard about it afterwards.

My wife also has some pain after prolonged standing or walking. I bought her Travel Chair on a big online shopping site--$26. It worked great and she says it really saved her back when we had to wait in line at several places in Europe before our transatlantic crossing.

It's a 3 - legged stool and weighs just a couple of pounds and folds to a small, compact size with a shoulder strap. Maybe 18" L x 3" diameter. It is built very sturdy and held my 300 lbs with out breaking or bending (when she'd let me use it).

Princess also has the Muster Stations in public lounges and the theater rather than outside. There is also always a special lounge (or sometimes the Casino) designated for disabled and their companions. They (Princess) want us all to be together so it is easier for them to assist us if needed. Works much better for me than waiting outside in the sun or wind.

THANK YOOU! This is something I was concerned about when I sail on the Golden Princess. I will have a wheeled suitcase and a walking stick with me at all times-I can manage for short distances this way.
