futuremrs.pittman Posted February 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2011 Hi! We were unable to get the DJ since he/she was already booked. We have the sound technician or whatever, who was the same price. Oh, by the way, we are getting married on Carnival Destiny. My questions: 1. Can we bring a burned CD of the music that we want him/her to play in their system? 2. Will he/she announce us and our wedding party as we enter the reception site? 3. We actually upgraded our reception to a 2 hour reception even though our ceremony is onboard, so we will be partying for 2 hours with our open bar :), so we are not doing the garter toss or bouquet toss, but we do want our first dance, father-daughter dance and mother-son dance. Will he/she do this as long as our CD (if burned is allowed) is in the correct order that we want them? Thank you!!
splendor_bride Posted February 17, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2011 We got married on the Spirit and used the sound Tech. They did not make any of the annoucements, but one of our wedding guests did. We put the individual songs we wanted on seperate CD's. We had 9 in total. 1 - guests entering wedding chapel - about 5 songs and they could start if from the begining if we were running late 2 - bridal party entrance - 1 song on cd 3 - bride's entrance - 1 song on cd 4 - recessional song - 1 song on cd 5 - "cocktail reception music" - about 5 songs (frank sinatra, dean martin, etc) to be played for about 15 min while we did photos 6 - bridal party entrance to reception - 1 song on cd 7 - first dance song - 1 song on cd 8a & 8b - reception dance music about 2 hours worth of music. We also used these 2 cd's to play while we hosted cocktail parties in our stateroom during the cruise. In the paperwork received from TWE it said only 3 CD for the wedding ceremony. No one questioned us having 4!

Lipz Posted February 18, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 18, 2011 We're also going this route but I swear it is making me nervous. I just can't see paying $300 for ONE hour of a DJ; ONE hour! :(
