lemonlime403 Posted February 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2011 March 12th a group of us are going on the Carnival Fantasy to freeport, nassau, and keywest. i was wondering what the best things to do were? one day we do know we want an all inclusive day package at a resort that would include food and alcohol. Does anyone have any ideas of what to do in each of these places?
MamaParrotHead Posted February 8, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2011 Nassau I'd do an AI at one of the resorts...Island Marketing has one at the British Colonial Hilton that's like $50 per adult but comes with $30 food/drink credit. http://bahamascruiseexcursions.com/NassauHiltonResortPass.htm Freeport I hear a lot about "Our Lucaya" beach. Or if you're into snorkeling, this tour looks great http://bahamascruiseexcursions.com/FreeportCatamaranSnorkeling.htm
SteelerCruiser Posted February 9, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 9, 2011 Freeport...Go to Our Lucaya in a taxi/van for $5pp each way. You will find a beautiful Beach, shopping, and casino there. Nassau...Walk around town and observe all the different things going on. Explore around the straw market. Head over to Atlantis...walk around over there several free areas to walk around and observe. Big casino here as well. Take a water taxi over $3pp each way. get on in front of straw mkt area. Little bit of a walk from where the WT lets you off to Atlantis. Reg taxi will run you $4pp each way and take you to the door. Also check out the Bahammas port forum on here for more info on this.
cruisekwazee Posted February 9, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 9, 2011 I went to Lucaya Marketplace and to Atlantis and loved Atlantis and Lucaya Marketplace they are kinda pushy about selling you stuff but I did buy some neat things.

Does anyone have any ideas of what to do in each of these places? Freeport, see about fishing. Or, a beach day short cab ride from the boat if you want to hang on a beach. Nassau I guess is the place for the ripoff IMO all inclusive deals at the beach. I'd rather eat at a local restaurant like Fish Fry and just bring a soft cooler along on the ship, get some ice from the cabin steward, pick up alcohol and mixers in town and grab a cab to a beach and enjoy. Key West, visit Lloyds Bicycle Tour. Google him. Blue Heaven restaurant if you want an unusual breakfast when you get off the ship. Mel Fisher Maritime Museum NOAA Eco Discovery Center that nobody on the ship will tell you about because it's free. http://floridakeys.noaa.gov/eco_discovery.html

lhanson38 Posted February 9, 2011 #8 Share Posted February 9, 2011 We just got back fron nassau not really in to shopping so we walked to the queens stairs and fort. Got to see Nassau got some great buildings took some great pictures. Then we hoped on the number 10 bus and went to a AI called breezes we had fun. The reason we did this insteed of diving or snorkleing is that I'm a cold water wimp and the water was just to cold for me. But if your not find a small boat capt and go snorkeling the reefs are unbelivable.

Thanks so much. And OP, I would highly recommend going to Our Lucaya, it was a really nice place. We did Atlantis and that was amazing...a little too costly though. I am really interested in this so does anyone know anything?

I am really interested in this so does anyone know anything? My daughter (23) did a jet ski tour last year in Key West. She said it was the BEST time she has ever had! (and she has traveled alot). They found the tour as they were walking down the street. You should be able to find it pretty easily, as Key West is small. She did mention the jet skis going about 65 miles an hour if you like that kind of thing!
cantwait06 Posted February 9, 2011 #14 Share Posted February 9, 2011 Nassau-blue lagoon....we did the dolphin encounter, but even if you just go for the beach it is well worth it....amazing there Freeport-I agree with others who said our lucaya...that place is beautiful, and free! MSRussell Posted February 9, 2011 #15 Share Posted February 9, 2011 When I was in Nassau last month, I booked a Segway tour. It was kind of steep ($85.00), but I had the time of my life learning how to ride one of those. Melanie
