Would anyone recommend an Island Tour?

I've been there several times and the best time my DW and I had was when we rented a VW convertible and drove the loop around the island and checked out some of the bars and restaurants on the western side of the island. I think that side is the prettiest. We then went into town and did a little shopping and ate some more and then returned to the ship.

That sounds like fun can you tell me how much the car rental would run? And is it a pretty easy thing to do. I know some of these ports people don't reccommend renting a car but have always been curious. Coz seems like a good place to do this. Any details are greatly appreciated! Thanks!
