We take a taxi/van into our Lucaya $5pp each way. There is shopping and a casino there. But the best part is the Beautiful calm blue water beach. In Jan when we were there we saw the small beach cabanas tehre but not sure if they are there all year round or not. There is also a shack on the beach that you can rent beach/water activities from.

in the middle of the shopping area there is a little shack that sells frozen island drinks. $6 will get you a 16oz and a 10 oz of the same flavor frozen drink. This can be had with or without rum.

Have fun and enjoy!...Freeport does not make the best 1st impression as you dock in an industrial shipyard. Just remember once you get to town it is more typical of the Island Style than the port itself.

We'll be in Freeport in less than a month and have questions about Our Lucaya....Where do you get taxis? Does it cost to go to the beaches? Does it cost to go in the casino? How big is the casino? Are there places to eat nearby? Is it worth going? Thanks ;)

We will be cruising on the Carnival Glory in May to Nassau and Freeport. We will only be in Freeport for a few hours-maybe 6 hours. Is it worth getting off the ship and catching a cab into Lucaya? We would like to spend a few hours at the beach but don't want to take the chance and get left behind!!! Is the cab service reliable and should we take that chance?
