Statue of Liberty

Port of New York. Planning a Cruise next year out of NY and was wondering which side the Statue of Liberty would be on when sailing out of the Harbor. Thanks.

If you're sailing from NYC (and not from Cape Liberty on RSSC or Celebrity) you'll head down river toward New York Harbor, passing the Statue of Liberty on your right (starboard) side. If you cruise from Cape Liberty, I think you'll start down river from the statue, and not pass it at all.

Can you see the statue from a ship in port at Cape Liberty, perhaps from the pool area?

Hopefully someone else can give you the information. We haven't been to Cape Liberty, just seen where it is on a map. Try a posting on Celebrity and RSSC: people on those boards will have sailed from Cape Liberty, and will know the answer.
