Coral Gardens Or Barrier Reef Grand Cayman

I am trying to book a StingRay City/Snorkeling tour. From the message boards several companies have great reviews. There will be 5 kids ages 6-11. Wondering if Coral Gardens or barrier Reef is better snorkeling? Which one is prettier and which one has less rough waters. Any advice is welcomed. I have a total of 13 people in my group any suggestions on private charters for that size

I prefer the snorkeling at the Barrier Reef. It's a longer reef system, so there is more to explore, even though obviously, you'll only cover a small area. On the days that we went to both places, the conditions/roughness were very similar in the two areas.

One thing to consider since you'll be with some young children is that the swim from the boat to the coral is probably further at the barrier reef, though it may depend on the actual boat you're on.

If you're doing a private charter, you can discuss this with them.
