Pre-Cruise/Post-Cruise Hotel FLL

IMHO...you should stay at a hotel along the intercoastal waterway so you can use the water taxi to get around. Fantastic way to visit all the many bars and restaurants, hotels, shopping areas...just a fun place to hang out.

Unfortunately, we stayed at the Lago Mar Beach Resort, which was very nice, on the beach...but super expensive and very family oriented. Not much to do for a couple w/o kids...so we spent most of our time on the intercoastal water taxi and visited Shooters and a bunch of other places, went shopping on Los Olas Blvd...etc. We were kicking ourselves for not staying somewhere along there rather than the $300/day hotel room we were paying for on the beach.

But don't get me wrong, the Lago is very nice...but be prepared to pay top $$$ for anything you eat!
