Pride Boarding Times

Does anyone know what time the Pride has been starting to board its passengers.

The two times I've been on the Pride have varried. We didn't get to the port until about 1 and the lines were kinda long but moved fairly fast. They were already letting people on the boat by that time and we got on sometime after 2 (just in time to see the Ravens lose to Indy)

Second time the ship was late getting back due to choppy waves in the Atlantic (was a storm that came up the coast right before it) and we didn't get on the ship until about 3:30 (just in time to see the Ravens beat Pittsburgh) :D. We had to wait in the terminal a good long time but they gave each passenger $30 in OBC to make up for it.

We were on the recent 1/30-2/6 cruise...we were through security and check-in by 11:45 am (ended up being in the third boarding group) and were enjoying lunch on the lido deck by 1:00pm.

What time did you arrive at Port? How long was your wait for check in and security?

Our experience is probably the exception...we had taken a shuttle from the hotel that we were staying at (Holiday Inn Express - West BWI) and were dropped off by 11:25 am and through security and check-in within 20 minutes.

The reason it was likely the exception...this was the cruise after the big snowstorm that went through Baltimore the last week in January. Because of that, the entire self-parking lot at the pier had to be plowed after all the cruisers from the week before shoveled out. Our shuttle passed by all the gridlock of those waiting to go into the parking lot. In fact, we passed my sister and her family who drove down from PA - they had been waiting 30 minutes already by the time we got to the terminal, and then it was about another hour before we saw them go through security. They ended up about 5 boarding groups behind us.

With the research I did on the Pride before the sailing via CC, the waiting time seemed to be anywhere from 30-60 minutes for a normal embarkation. Don't forget, once you get through check-in, you still are in a holding area before you get on the ship. It does seem as though 12:30-1pm is the average timeframe for the VIPs to start their trek up the gangway.

So would you say 11:15 would be a good time to plan to be there? It's vacation week (for those of us in the north), if that makes a difference.

Yeah, I mean, there will definitely still be people getting off - when we got there at 11:30, someone told us that there were still about 600 people left onboard. So while you may get through security and check-in fairly quick at 11:15 am, be prepared for your boarding group to actually wait until 12:45 pm - 1:15 pm to get on the Pride. Also important to note, once you are in the terminal area (after check-in), you are not allowed to use cell phones or cameras.

3 cruises on the Pride, arrive at Port at 11:00 for all three. Embarked 1st one at 11:30, 2nd one was 12:30 3rd one was 2:30. Never know what will happen on its way back. The 3rd one it had bad weather along the coast. Worry if you get there at 11:00 and you don't see the ship.
