andrea63 Posted February 19, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2011 Size, lay out and age of ship for starters. I'm not quite sure what more you want to know. I'm sure some carnival pro will come along shortly with a ton more to add.:D The newer and larger ships offer more things than the smaller fantasy class, however I have not found a bad ship yet!

G'ma Posted February 19, 2011 #6 Share Posted February 19, 2011 What is the difference between cruise classes? IE: Dream, Fantasy, Spirit? Thanks! Think of it like the airlines. Airlines have many different models: 747,727,DC-9,A300, etc. Each of these planes are different from one another---size, engines, seat configuration, etc. In addition, within each model "class", there are differences. For instance, there are several models of the A300 "class" or the 727 "class". Carnival and others do the same thing. Fantasy Class is the designation for their 8 smaller ships, the first one, built in 1990 was the ship Fantasy...7 others were built using the same basic design... Spirit Class is the designation for the 4 ships built in the early 2000's...the first was their ship Carnival Spirit...the other 3 were built using the same basic design. Each generation of new design carries the designation of the first ship built in that "class"... Carnival Dream is the first of the Dream class ships, with the Magic the 2nd. If they build other ships based on that same design, they will also be a "Dream Class" vessel. The interiors of each ship in a particular class is almost exactly alike with different interior design, decor, etc. In addition, some inside modifications may be made from ship to ship...but the basic ship design and build is identical. Hope this helps some.
