Due to security reasons they are not. I've been on board while ships are in port to meet the captain but its part of my job. They are very strict about who they let on board while the ship is in port and its a very short list.

You can have visitors on board for a wedding. They are usually required to leave the ship 45 minutes prior to sail.

And have to be prearranged in advance. They rarely will allow this for individual visitors.

AH, I remember those days when friends and family could board the ship, have lunch or a huge bon voyage party on board. Good times....
