Lady Curious Posted February 22, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2011 Has anybody booked with a TA using their Harrah's Discount? Has anybody booked directly with an NCL PCC using a Harrah's discount and then transferring it over to a TA? The first time we cruised NCL we upgraded from a promotion Harrah's gave us, which had certain restrictions as to which cruises and departure ports we were able to pick from. The price we paid was lower than any full price we saw on NCL's website for the cruise and cabin we ended up picking, so I am assuming it was good to stay with NCL. This time we decided to book a cruise on our own and since we enjoyed the "no formal clothing required", we decided to go with NCL again. We called NCL directly, was given a price with the current promotion we qualified for, then our Harrah's discount was better than the promotion, so we changed it. Now we are reading on CC about all the OBC that passengers are receiving from their TA. Some say they book directly with NCL then transfer their reservation to a TA, others say they book directly with their TA and receive quite a bit of OBC and other perks like free travel insurance and champagne. Everytime I try to price our cruise directly with a TA they quote me a price that is exactly what the NCL website says, offer a little OBC, which would end up costing us MUCH more than staying with NCL. Only once did I ask about receiving a Harrah's discount and I was told yes by the person I was speaking with, but when I called back with our Harrah's and Latitude information that agent said they cannot apply a Harrah's discount. So I am now totally confused  Has anybody received a Harrah's discount booking with a TA? Thank you for any and all information that you can provide. Our final payment is due in a couple of weeks. :)
SASA13 Posted February 22, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2011 I will be crusing on the Gem 3/26 from NYC. I gathered pricing from : Harrah's discount program ( they have a special phone number you have to call), NCL website and Continental Airlines ( cruise division). I received the best rate, and best incentives from Continental, therefore, I booked with them. I have never booked cruise from a TA. Best of luck to you. woodmews Posted February 22, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2011 I booked my cruise directly with NCL and their Harrah's dept. The discount through Harrah's was much greater than the current price and OBC would have been. I believe you cannot get both. It's one or the other. che5904 Posted February 22, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 22, 2011 I'm assuming you would have to book through CASINO CAESARS ENTERTAINMENT 7665 CORPORATE CENTER DR Miami, FL 33126 I'm sorry I don't have a phone number right now, but I'm sure you can find one on any of Harrah's property site. You could try this one, it was in my email from Harrahs Reservation Department at 800-327-7030 for further assistance
garycarla Posted February 22, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 22, 2011 As your TA eventually realized, their first statement was in error. You have to book via NCL/ Casinos At Sea to get the discount.
Lady Curious Posted February 23, 2011 Author #6 Share Posted February 23, 2011 Thank you so much for your replies. I will call that number tomorrow to see what they have to say. I thought that even if you booked through Harrah's you could still take your booking over to a TA and then they would give you their perks of OBC, free insurance and wine or something, in addition to your Harrah's discount. It just seemed like the posts were stating that they got hundreds of dollars in OBC and our Harrah's discount is a percentage off the posted fare with a small additional amount of money added back on, actually about $200 per person. But we qualified for another promotion that they were doing at the time, which would have decreased the fare $166 per person. Which still made the Harrah's discount better. At this point the fare for our cabin has gone up $230 per person. I will look at it like we are now saving $430 each  We do want to book another cruise for 2012. Now is the time to find out as much as I can before I decide on the next cruise. :)
goldmom Posted February 23, 2011 #7 Share Posted February 23, 2011 Once you have sailed with NCL and joined Casinos at Sea, you may want to call them for a price also as depending on your play you may qualify for a better discount than the Harrah's discount. It never hurts to shop around for the best price.

seashells08 Posted February 24, 2011 #11 Share Posted February 24, 2011 you also get a card for the casino that comps your beverages, so sometimes the savings right there are worth it.
