MarilouR Posted February 27, 2011 #26 Share Posted February 27, 2011 (edited) We also saw about 6/7 pairs of puffins in Glacier Bay (they were always in pairs, which made it a little easier to spot them) Some floated in the water and a couple were flying. It was the one thing my husband really wanted to see on that trip. I think a lot depends on the time of year you are cruising. When the Park Rangers board ask them when the best time/place to see them might be and make sure you carry your binoculars with you. PathfinderEss Posted June 8, 2014 #29 Share Posted June 8, 2014 (edited) Do the tour out of Sitka that takes you out to see the Puffins. That may be your only chance.:) Edited June 8, 2014 by PathfinderEss
solocanadian Posted June 8, 2014 #30 Share Posted June 8, 2014 This is a very old resurrected posting. That being said, I was in Seward on May 18/14 and went on a private tour excursion on Resurrection Bay. Tour Guide said the Puffins were just beginning to return for the spring nesting period and summer. Have never heard of them farther south in Glacier Bay and I have been there many times. Happy Puffin hunting.:)
