I live in Canton, so not to far from you... we are going to Freeport and Nassau..I really wanted to go to HMC, but I will take what I can get..

i'm so ready to go. I totally love the review and pictures.

come on along with us, the more the merrier :D

I'm sure the Bahamas can handle a few more people from North Ga...:)

Not to far from me at all. I wish I could go along. I'm the type that doesn't care where the ship goes as long as I'm on the ship. I want to go any and every where. :D;)

I'm glad you are liking the review. I have never written one before.

On this cruise we had so many people from Ga. The Cruise Director on the first night asked if people were from N.E., midwest S.E. ect. ect. and most were from the Southeast. Then he started naming all the states in the Southeast. When he got to Ga the place went wild. We all waved our hands and there were about 50-100 different hands up. There were so many Georgians on board that when ever he pulled someone up on he asked where they were from. Before theycould answer he was like let me guess Ga. It was funny. I was talking to a guy in the laundry room and he was from Ga. With 3 other families but he said alot more were on the ship from the same school. He said it wasn't planned that way. I also met a Mom and her Daughter. They were on my roll call and from Canton. Looks like Canton is a cruise loving town.:p

I am thinking of cruising on the Valor in April. How was that cruise and ship?

great review.

took my wife for her 40th birthday surprise trip last fall and we're taking our kids for their first cruise over the 4th of July weekend. Really like HMC. Wish our cruise included that.

How exciting. Your kids will have a great time. HMC is so nice. I have never been any where like it. To bad they don't have a 3 day cruise to HMC. Now I would take that cruise over Nassau any day.

It gives you a reason to book another cruise. :D

If you dont mind me asking what did you do in Nassau? We are going June 20th for our honeymoon and havent decided on what to do there. We think that we want to do a beach day but not sure where yet.

BTW- great review!!

Thank You! Congratulation on your up coming wedding. Our plan was to go to Atlantis. My Mom got a real bad sunburn and a rash. She still has it 3 weeks later. We think she is allergic. Anyways we just stayed on board. We didn't want to spend 120 each for her to be miserable or to have to sit inside. They have waterslides, pools, a private beach area, an aquarium, shops, resturants, and a casino.

When we were planning we looked into Blue Lagoon. It is a small island that you can ferry to. They offer sea lion and dolphin swim.

We also looked at a beach day at one of the hotels. The Sheraton is 25.00 per person. It is on the beach with 3 pools, swim up bar and jaccuzzi. They offer snorkeling, sailing, parasailing and jet skis for an additional cost. Plus it has resturants and a casino. The Wyndham is next door and it's 40.00 per person including a buffet lunch. It has a pools one with a waterslide, a casino and resturant. Because the 2 hotels are next to one another you can use each hotels facillities.

Another hotel offering day passes is the British Colonial Hilton. It is within walking distance from the ship. It is more laid back and more for adults. I don't have alot of information on it. I was traveling with my DD so that wasn't an option this trip. If you look under the Ports of Call board there is a ton of information on all of them. Here is the link

Happy Honeymoon! Happy cruising! I hope ya'll have a good time.

Loved your review! It was great!! Do you mind if I ask what type of camera you used? The pictures were so clear, especially the ones of your DD in the water - they were fabulous! :)

I'm asking because the last time I was at HMC I dropped my camera in the sand with the lens open and it hasn't worked since. :( I am wanted to get another camera before my cruises this summer.

Thanks for reading! I loved your review too. I look forward to reading the next one.

I used 2 cameras. Most of the pictures on here so far are from my Canon PowerShot D10. It is 12 megapixels with a 3x zoom. It's waterproof, shockproof and freezeproof. I just got it for my Birthday. A present to myself. The ones of HMC, DD in the water, and the ones coming up from Nassau are from my Canon PowerShot Sx20 is. It is 12 megapixels with a 20x zoom lens. I got it last year for my trip to the Grand Canyon. I love it. They don't make that model anymore but they have a new and improved one. It's the Canon PowerShot Sx30 is. It has a 35x zoom with 14 megapixels. If you have any more questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Your review is fantastic. It makes me wish I could leave now and get on the boat. Time seems to be moving slower the closer it gets. The pictures are great and I hope when I go I can get some great pics like that. Thanks for the review.

Thank You so much for all the kind words. I'm glad you are liking it. Your cruise will be here before you know it. I hope you have a great time.

Yummy meal. And our tablemates can to dinner on time. After dinner we were trying to head to the adults comedy with Scotty K. at 9:30 followed by Tommy Drake but once again we didn't make it. It wasn't that we didn't try but DD was tired. DM was tired too and not feeling the greatest. I didn't want to go by myself. So back to the cabin we go. We had a new friend waiting for us.

Floppy Dog and Jesse wanted the chocolate in his mouth abd started being mean to him. So they were sent to bed.

FascinationCruiseFeb2011133.jpg

Sorry! DD wanted them to be included in this review. She said it was their cruise too.

So off to bed for everyone. We fell asleep quickly. Tired from all the sun, water, and fun.

We woke as we were backing into our dock spot.

Do you happen to have a better picture of the Betty K building (the area that was burnt)? I haven't seen another picture since the fire. Just curious how bad the damage was.

Yes I have some really good ones coming up.

Well as some of you may know. A few weeks ago Nassau had a very devastating fire. A whole block of buildings were burned. It was the Betty K building, the Bacardi building and the Green Parrot Crew Club. It's at the waterfront and on East and Bay Streets. Pretty sad but at least no one was seriously hurt. It looks like they will be rebuilding soon. Bulldozers and large trash bins were in the area already. Looked like they already started.

The day for Nassau didn't go as planned. DM wasn't feeling well. She got sunburned and sun poisoning real bad. The sunburned area turned into a rash . She is still battling it a week later. It is an allergic reaction. I have a co-worker that has the same thing too. Real bizare. Like I said before we both have fair and sensitive skin. I felt so bad for her. DD was overly tired and grumpy too. We all went back to sleep and woke 2 1/2 hours later.

Our plan was to take the water taxi over to Atlantis and spend the day. We were going to buy them once we got over there. Not that big a deal and we weren't out any money. We were a little disapointed but we will go back. This was our 2nd time to Nassau. The first time we were there we walked down the shopping area went to Senior Frogs, and walked through the straw market. We were on the Sensation and we didn't get into port until 12 noon.

After our nap we headed down for food. We had lunch since it was so late. DD chicken fingers with fries. I had turkey on a country roll and DM had tuna on wheat. DM said it wasn't that good. The bread was dry but the tuna was good.

After lunch we headed to the pool. There was no one out there. It was nice and quiet with everyone in port. It was also nice not to have drink waiters not asking you every 2 mins if you wanted a drink. My DM and my new friend kept making fun of me. I'm a southern girl and always look people in the eyes. Whenever they would come buy I would look at them. LOL I couldn't help it! They kept telling me to ignore them and don't acknowledge them. I just can't do that. I always say hi to those I pass when walking abound too.

The adult hot tub. You notice how empty? In the kids hot tub it was full all the time. The adults sometimes it was empty. I went in once and had the whole thing to myself. Very nice.
