Does Skype work....

Does anyone have experience using Skype on Carnival, the Glory to be exact. If you buy internet usage, will you be able to make phone calls on your computer, or is the ships internet too slow?

Does anyone have experience using Skype on Carnival, the Glory to be exact. If you buy internet usage, will you be able to make phone calls on your computer, or is the ships internet too slow?

 

We used Skype on our 12-23-10 cruise on the Destiny from our room to wish the kids and grandkids a Merry Christmas on Christmas morning. We used it early in the morning (less users = faster connection). They could see us, but we couldn't see them. That was OK though, because I think I forgot to select video when I called them ! oops.

 

We're new to Skype, but during our 16 day vacation (cruise and Florida), it kept us well connected to the family etc.

 

Highly recommend this vs email, as long as you have a set time/day you want to connect to ensure they are at their PC/laptop when you call.

Thanks this will make my daughters very happy. Young love... they want to keep in touch with their boyfriends :)
