vizzle Posted March 2, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2011 I haven't been on the Miracle in 2 years. We will be going this May. Wanted to know if anyone has anything to report or can direct me where I can find out what is new or changed? Do they still have the band on board? When I went last time, they were one of the last ones to have one. What else is going on there?

When I went last time, they were one of the last ones to have one. What else is going on there? The still have a band and several musicians and singers all around the ship. The biggest surprise for me was they don't have art auctions, and that's really good news.

bubbles1209 Posted March 7, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 7, 2011 :rolleyes:Just got off of the Miracle on Thursday..........I wanna go back! :( No art auctions, no more port talks in the show lounge the day before getting to a port. Now, they just have a pre-recorded port talk for all the ports at once, and the loop it on the t.v. for you to watch at your liesure. The same thing for the debarkation talk. Had anytime dining so I missed the dancing waiters. There was a live band. The deck party was mid-week, instead of towards the end of the cruise. I didn't see the carnival colors competition, though I'm sure it was there as I heard them say red team & blue team at the bean bag toss. Muster drill is still a must, but you don't have to take the life jackets with you. Noticed less trivia games than there used to be. Piano bar was dead except for the night of the piano bar party. Hairy chest contest still being done, ice carving still being done, legends show still being done, only it was on the last sea day in the middle of the afternoon instead of that night in the show lounge. tet1968 Posted March 7, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 7, 2011 Since you just got off the Miracle, what band was playing last week? We board for the 4th time in 3 weeks and was wondering if Music Unlimited was playing. Any info is appreciated. Thanks tet196
SkyMaster Posted March 7, 2011 #9 Share Posted March 7, 2011 As noted by "Bubbles", a lot less activities, and IMO this is due to the "lack luster" Cruise Director and his band of lazy assistants. Malcolm Burn seems to be gradually cutting back on the activities aboard "Miracle", and I have to agree that some of the cut backs are good, but many are really really bad! I noticed a marked difference in the number of activities, and many of the advertised events either didn't happen at all, or weren't attended by the C.D., or any of his gang of slackers. Maybe the beards at Carnival will finally take notice of this, and straighten him out, or better yet, put a REAL Cruise Director aboard, to put things back to normal for a "Fun Ship". Just calling 'em like I see 'em. "SKY"
fdwt994 Posted March 7, 2011 #10 Share Posted March 7, 2011 For what it's worth, I saw a link the other day with a schedule that shows all the CD's and it shows Malcolm is off the ship since last week. Anyone have that link? It was on the boards here at CC.

Will be on Miracle in less than 3 weeks with this guy so will see if anything changes.

So is there any evening entertainment the last night? On previous cruises that we have been on the legends show was the evening entertainment. Just calling 'em like I see 'em. "SKY" I have heard other negative comments on C.C in regards to Malcolm Burns. I wonder if Carnival reads these boards or gets negative feedback from passangers who respond to online surveys ? I guess my question is if Malcolm is really that bad why doesn't Carnival terminate him ? I'll be on the Miracle in August and will most likely have the opportunity to see for myself.. hill6 Posted March 7, 2011 #14 Share Posted March 7, 2011 I don't see anything wrong with the port of call talk being on the tv prerecorded. Not much will change week to week with the ports.
DolfanNY Posted March 7, 2011 #15 Share Posted March 7, 2011 I was just on the Miracle Feb 23rd sailing. Malcolm did a good job. I don't know what all the negative stuff is about. He may not be John Heald, but I wouldn't complain or take a cruise because of the cruise director. The band playing at Frankie and Johnnys is Music Manila. They were the best part of our cruise. They also play the Beatles in the Ticket to Ride show. There was 2 different singers in the casino and the lobby bar. They were both ok.
BABSIER Posted March 8, 2011 #16 Share Posted March 8, 2011 I like Malcolm. Had him last April as CD and looking forward to seeing him again when I cruise mid-May. He is a little more low key but I like that. To each his own I guess.:)
LynnAnne Posted March 8, 2011 #17 Share Posted March 8, 2011 Same here, DH and I were on the Miracle Feb 15th. I thought Malcolm was great. I was a little embarrased when DH and I attented the past guest party after a shore excution in St. Kitts that we drank a bit to much rum punch. We walk past Malcolm and DH tells him "My wife thought you were a dork when we first got here, now she loves you" OMG I could of ran and hid but the rum punch buzz made me just laugh!! Anyway other then the who-hoo I thought he was great!!!
lettienets Posted March 8, 2011 #18 Share Posted March 8, 2011 I was on 2 b2bs in Jan and liked Malcolm a lot too. His has a nice sense of humour, is friendly to people and engages the audience, just not flashy. Great guy.
