licedlemonloafiscrack Posted March 3, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2011 Maybe I'm crazy, but I love the idea of being on a cruise in rough waters -- with lots of rocking and pitching. Does anyone know of any itineraries or times of the year -- or even cruise lines (like Hurtigruten in Norway) where one might have a better chance of experiencing something like that? squarevanman Posted March 3, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 3, 2011 If you fancy Hurigruten the use one of the two older ships Nordstjernen or Lofoten. On the former in February last year it was a little rough on one of the trips into open water. Hope its the same on the Lofoten in 2 days time. You must remember that these ships sail very close to the Norwegian coast and are only in open waters for a very short time.

Hurricane season might provide rough seas:D!
Hurricane Expert Posted April 23, 2011 #4 Share Posted April 23, 2011 Go around the tip of south america. I had a friend who sailed though 60' seas with one wave reported over 100' several months ago. The captain said it was the roughest cruise of his whole career.
