Will I need a car seat?

I know this is asked a lot but I haven't found what I've been looking for. In April, I will be going on a Royal Carribean Radiance of the Seas cruise with my then 8 month old. We are driving to the port so of course he will be in his car seat. We are visiting cozumel and costa maya ports. Will I need a car seat for those ports? We weren't planning on getting off the ship in Cozumel because we have been there before. Unless there is a beach within walking distance that I don't remember about. We have never been to Costa Maya so I wanted to get off there.

Is there beaches within walking distance to both ports? Or should I take the car seat? its a convertible one so its pretty big. And if so, where would I store it in the cabin?

Also off topic, we are bringing our own pack and play and are in an interior room, where would we set up the pack and play in the cabin so it won't take up a lot of space?
