In St. Thomas I would take the excursion to the Baths if they still offer it. It is a full day activity and there is a lot of travel time, but worth it.

Nassau- The Blue Lagoon is really nice.

We are going to Nassau next month and our plans are to go to Cable Beach and then Arawak Cay (looks to be a VERY cool place-actually a restaurant row- to get true Bahamain food-google it if interested) Last time we did the Pirate Museum (hokey but *I* enjoyed it- 23 year old daughter went just to please me, was not thrilled with it lol) walked up the Queens Staircase and then over to the Fort (name escapes me) and did the straw market. Things we considered: Atlantis (the cost is what stopped us) Blue Lagoon-but you need a very long port day to get there, enjoy it and get back in time. There is a Casino if that is your thing (I blow enough in the ship's casino-don't need any more temptation!) Supposed to be a good golf course over by Cable Beach (house on grounds is the place of the infamously murdered Sir Harry Oakes)

St Thomas we did the BOSS scuba dive and then Megan's Bay - utterly gorgeous, like living in a postcard for a day. There is a sky ride that is very popular near the port, we haven't done that.. yet :D LOTS of places to shop for duty free stuff in the town. Happy Cruising!!

I have to ask... Why???

Beats me. We went to Orient beach last month and really beautiful beach. Just have to warn you that one side is clothing optional and some of the wrong people take this option.

We were among the people that kept our clothes on just so you know.

We did an excursion in St. Maarten where you drive a jeep in an excursion round the island. They do a caravan and have walkie-talkie radios. One of the stops was Orient Beach and we felt it was a great trip. Spent about an hour at the beach. We booked it through Carnival.

We've always rented our own jeep in St. Martin...easy island to navigate and you can pick up the vehicle right at port...then drive around the island clockwise stopping in Marigot and Grand Case (sp?) (Great spot for lunch). Continue around island stopping as you wish! Great way to spend the day!

St. Thomas - If it's your first visit I highly rec. an island tour with a shopping and beach stop by Sunny Liston or Godfrey (have done both) much cheaper than the ship!

Nassau - Love Cable Beach - Day pass at the Wyndham or Sheraton...take the public jitney for a dollar or two...piece of cake and another great day!

We don't do much in Nassau, but check the Ports of Call boards and research the kinds of things you like for vendor recommendations. This is a very short port day as I recall - might consider a Carnival excursion for that reason. They guarantee the ship will wait for you if for any reason you return late.

In St. Thomas Virgin Islands we have always used Godfrey Tours VI. His narrative on history, culture, flowers, education, and scenery from the highest peak is different every time we go. He is punctual and extremely interested in the comfort and wishes of his customers.

In St. Maarten we have always booked with Bernards Tours. We've had Bernard once and Noel once and went clockwise around the island once and counterclockwise once. They take you to Orient Beach, with clothed people to the left and the nudies to the right. Your choice! On the left, the 2nd or third restaurant is run by Americans who have plastered the inside ceiling with vanity license plates, mostly NY/NJ, including FGDABTT (fuhgettaboutit) and others that are so funny to enjoy. Food's great too!
