Upsell Fairy Called Me Today

I got a phone call and an email from the Upsell Department today. We have a DAWN reservation for a BA balcony on deck 10 forward. She was offering us an AC Penthouse on deck 9 forward for $500 (total not each). I said YES! Did I make the right decision? What are we going to love about the Penthouse? Just saying the word "penthouse" makes me giggle!!

Oh boy! What a suite deal!!! :p

You will love it. Look online at the room layout and look how big that balcony is going to be. A butler to bring you whatever you want whenever you want and a concierge to make you reservations, get you to the front of the line for tenders, and escort you off during disembarkation. Sometimes there are even goodies waiting for you from NCL!

I am jealous! I would love to be able to afford the PH but probably will not ever be able to. However I never dreamed that I would be able to afford to cruise at all and we will be going on our 6th cruise in May. So I feel very blessed to be able to cruise at all. I hope you enjoy your PH and have a great time in it. I certainly would!

Wow! That is a fantastic deal. Congratulations! You will always have the extra special memories of the pampered treatment you will receive. We have found the nicer the room, the more time we spend in it. Enjoy your cruise and please post a review when you get back.

Thanks for all the positive feedback!! ;) Actually I watched the price of our cruise from the time we booked until I made the final payment. Each time the price dropped, I called NCL and got an adjustment. We ended up saving about $700 when final payment was due. I figure even with the upsell and the extra tips that go along with it, we are where we were when we first booked the trip at a price we could afford! I too feel so lucky to be able to cruise as I never thought we would be able to do it!!

 

I found some pictures of the balcony, and it looks like just the right size for what the doctor ordered - 9 days of quiet time on our large balcony, beverage in hand, my kindle, and my sweetie!

You will have a great time in the penthouse, we booked one on the Gem and really enjoyed the little perks. Having our own restaurant for breakfast and lunch and the special service getting off the ship the extra reception was fun. If offered an up sell like that I would probably jump at it. Enjoy.

Congratulations! You are a lucky cruiser. Sure would love one of those myself for our anniversary cruise! Have a wonderful time enjoying what everyone talks about as the "Suite Life".:p

You will be invited to one or two parties with free drinks, have priority tendering and best of all Cagneys for breakfast and lunch and/or good food brought to your cabin for meals. The tips depend on how much you use the butler and concierge. We tipped the butler $20 one time for only bringing continetal breakfast a couple of times and $50 one time for really taking charge of the steward and bring us breakfast a couple of times. The concieges could not be bothered to even escort is to our cabin ahead of the non-sutie passengers (they went ahead with the higher end suites), so since we didn't get anything, we didnt't tip them.We did our own reservations and did not use the reserved seats in the theatre. Neither concierge offered to get us into the chocolate buffet early or help us with disembarkation. Again, they were helping the higher end suites.Both suite cruises were great and well worth the extra we paid.

We got our first (and only) upsell on the Dawn too. They called our TA with an upsell to an AC from a balcony. By the time she called me and got back to them it was gone. She wheeled and dealed and got us an AB which was fantastic. I hoped for an upsell to an AC the last time out, but I think they do it once to hook you into suites. You'll enjoy the benefits and love the suite life. Congratulations.:)
