Book tours at port?

Is there a place inside/outside the tourist village to book tours the day of arrival in Belize? I was hoping I wouldn't have to plunk my credit card down now or book through NCL. Thanks!

Thanks! I'm really leaning toward Lamanai and I know it's the longest trip out there. It would be a tough gamble to wait to book it on shore. I was just concerned about paying Island Marketing a deposit in case the ship doesn't stop.

on NCL you don't pay until you pay the bill on the ship. they just charge it to your ship's account.

for lamanai, NCL does a great tour. our tour guide was one of the top 2 we have ever had! plus, ship tours get 1st tender and an early start to a long day. we got back 15 mins before last tender back to the ship.

We are also going into Belize without an excursion booked...yet. Last year we did this same cruise and went cave tubing and ziplining. This time we just want to snorkel and lay on a beach. Wondering if this can be booked at the port as well. Saw a website from Island Marketing for a tour to Goff's Caye beach with snorkeling for $40. Coral Breeze offers the Caye Caulker tour with snorkeling at shark ray alley for $69 comparable to the NCL tour at $109. Not sure it is worth the extra money. Actually spent too much for a suite and need to cut down on excursions. Any advice on any of these tours? Leaving for NOLA tomorrow....

I went into Belize without a prior booked tour....big mistake and I don't recommend it.

Book with the cruise line...most of the time they don't actually hit your credit card but use the cc as a deposit method.

.

Can you explain why it was a mistake? Did you try to book a tour on the dock and couldn't find anything? Or just didn't know who to book with, who was reputable?

I don't think I'd go wandering around Belize without an organized tour, but I'm not convinced it has to be a ship sponsored tour -- there seem to be a few tour companies that get very good reviews all over the 'net.

We booked a tour prior to our cruise through experiencebelizetours and had a great time. You can elect to pay cash at the end of the tour and they have a selection of tours for cruise ship passengers.
