Keri's Cruisin' Posted March 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2011 Just an FYI. We will be in Nassau next week on Wed March 16th right in the midst of springbreak week and I wanted to know if we would be able to get day passes to the Sheraton before we took the bus/taxi out there so I emailed them to double check. Here is my email to them and their response to me: ME: Will be in Nassau next Wednesday March 16th just for the day via cruise ship and would like to use your facilities on the day pass for $25.00 I understand this is during “springbreak” and just wanted to know if you will be allowing day passes on this particular date before we take a cab out to your hotel? It will be myself and my 14 and 20 year son. Please let me know if the day pass will be available on this day. Thanks in advance. Them: Hello. Day passes are available for Cruise Ship visitors. Warm regards

Mom2Evie Posted March 11, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 11, 2011 Well, they were just a wealth of information. I can really feel their overdeveloped sense of customer service, oozing through that email. LOL!!!
scubagirrl Posted March 11, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2011 Well, they were just a wealth of information. I can really feel their overdeveloped sense of customer service, oozing through that email. LOL!!! You are right. Problem is, that most hotels in nassau are lacking customer service and communication skills. (with the exception of the Hilton, I might add). This is why I caution about taking their word on things. At any moment during the day, the manager can cut off day passes due to occupancy, overcrowdiing, wedding parties etc. Noone knows this in advance, and not everyone is told when this happens. The asst. Manager may not even know. It's crazy. So the front desk may have one bit of information, reservations another and the 800# staff another. So I never trust what is said, and always bring proof with me.

Daizie45 Posted March 20, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 20, 2011 Hi all, Just got back from NCL Jewel. I was worried that the Sheraton would sell out of day passes, but it wasn't at all! We arrived around 10AM and paid $25 each for use of pools, beach (with umbrella and chairs) and water sports (kayaks, giant slide, etc). I was nervous that it was going to sell out the morning we arrived, so I opted to take a $15 taxi for my husband and I. I highly suggest to USE THE JITNEY #10 instead! We took it home, and it was a super quick trip. Definitely a money saver at $1.25 per person. Just ask any taxi driver to point you in the direction. One guy even asked me "How did you know about the #10? You must've been here before." Most of the Spring Breakers were next door at the Wyndham. They had a full on beach party going on when we walked over with a DJ. The Sheraton also had a soccer field and volleyball court on the beach. If you go to the Sheraton, bring water and drinks! Either fill a bottle before you get off the shop or buy one downtown first. Bottles of soda were $3.00 and large bottles of water were $4.50. I highly suggest the Sheraton. It was one of my favorite places!

There are signs as you exit the lobby.. no food or drink..

Daizie45 Posted March 21, 2011 #11 Share Posted March 21, 2011 There was zero security at the Sheraton. Everyone was extremely nice, including the front desk and cafe! No one looked twice at my water bottle including the waiters going around selling drinks!

Were they pretty readily available? What other water sports did they have? Sounds like you had a great time there!
Daizie45 Posted March 22, 2011 #13 Share Posted March 22, 2011 No extra charge for use of all water sports equipment - kayaks with life vests, giant slide, paddle boats, etc. We were really lucky. Nassau was in the lower 80's that day. There were tons of people in the water. There is also a heated pool with a swim up bar and a hot tub. Towels are included in the $25 per person charge. The water was very clear! Good for snorkeling. You could always walk to the Wyndham where drinks are a little bit cheaper.
MD VBMom Posted March 22, 2011 #14 Share Posted March 22, 2011 We will be in Nassau the week before Easter. We're looking at getting a day pass for a relaxing day at a pool and beach. The Sheraton seems to fit our tastes. It's me, DH and two DD, 13 and 16. I'm wondering about a menu for lunch. Has anyone had lunch there? (I'm hoping to not have to spend too much on food/beverages.) The property seems to have several choices for dining. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks... Doesn't happen often, but it does happen. Last year they restricted day passes during spring break and when they are at capacity. They don't want their guests to be bothered by too many outsiders. Wyndham is available next door if that happens

schwaja3 Posted March 25, 2011 #19 Share Posted March 25, 2011 Scubagirrl, you seem to have all the answers. so, can you help me? I am going with my wife and 2 boys, aged 12 & 16. If I do the Sheraton, should I take a cab from the pier? Is the slide big enough tha tthe boys will like it? I am going to be there on April 6, is that still spring break, and will they stop selling the day passes? If that happens, can I walk to the Wyndham? Thanks for any and all help!!! Jack There's no slide at the Sheraton.. it's at the Wyndham.. (Picture below). To get to the sheraton just hop on the #10 jitney(bus) for $1.25 and tell the driver where you want to get off. If there's a problem with the sheraton, wyndham is next door. A 5 min walk USUALLY, you can use both properties, but when it's crowded with spring breakers.. not so much.. Sheraton tries to keep their property in control.. that's why they sometimes invoke restrictions.
belkin Posted March 25, 2011 #22 Share Posted March 25, 2011 Just wondering what a day room is like? Is it just like renting a regular room? If you rent it what is the timeframe you can be in it? They are open to the public. The lobby bar sometimes has kareoke, local bands, DJ etc. depends on the nite.
