peppervegas Posted March 10, 2005 #27 Share Posted March 10, 2005 I have another question for those just off the Celebration. Did the dining room menu look similar to the one posted in this thread (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=147601). My wife would like to know if we can expect the first 5 days menus as posted on the above link. There were only 4 options for the entree each night. I'm a picky eater and I had the steak every night so I'm going off vauge memory and the menus on that link but... night 1: Filet, shrimp, chicken night 2: Lamb, Lobster, prime rib, some other fish (?) *everyone at our table order both the lobster and the prime rib entrees night 3: , veil, veggies, steak - but I can't remember what cut night 4: fettucine w/ mushroom creme, grouper, pork chops, chatubriand Sorry I don't have better info for you. Hopefully Kathy, or someone else on the cruise has a better memory than I do!!
ernstbass Posted March 10, 2005 #28 Share Posted March 10, 2005 What time did you embark? I just received my travel docs and they indicated that embarkation ws 1:30 to 3:30. I had hoped to get on the ship around noon. Any chance of this?
obx_fintoo Posted March 10, 2005 #29 Share Posted March 10, 2005 Just wanted to say Hi after I saw your signature! I am a Tresa as well! :D It's an usual spelling that I have only seen a few other times. How do you pronounce your name - TREE-SA or TRESS-A? We're on the Celebration on 4/14 and I promise to post a review as soon as we get back. After reading Kathy's and peppervegas's reviews I'm even more excited! Only 5 short weeks to go now! Hopefully Kathy, or someone else on the cruise has a better memory than I do!! Thanks for the info you did give. I probably would not be able to remember anything of the menu after a couple days off the ship. I really enjoy steak also, and on past cruises, I have usually order a beef entree, and another one so I could try it and see if I like it. I usually did. peppervegas Posted March 10, 2005 #31 Share Posted March 10, 2005 What time did you embark? I just received my travel docs and they indicated that embarkation ws 1:30 to 3:30. I had hoped to get on the ship around noon. Any chance of this? We got to the port around 1:45ish it took us maybe 30 minutes in total to get through... it seemed like there were already people on the ship but I don't know what time they actually allowed people to start boarding. I'd call the port if I were you and confirm. Thanks for the info you did give. I probably would not be able to remember anything of the menu after a couple days off the ship. lol... I remember mainly because our dinners were always very eventful. We always seemed to make up our own meals and strange combinations. They were very accomodating to us and I think more than anything amused.
kdickers Posted March 10, 2005 #32 Share Posted March 10, 2005 oh! And you said get up and pack up (in the morning...) You might know this and it is probably a stupid comment for me to make but I didn't remember it happening this way on the Imagination so FYI - we had to have any luggage that we weren't carrying off (self-assist) outside of our cabin door between 6pm-midnight the night before disembarkation. I thought it was the morning of on the last cruise but I may be remembering wrong... I guess my fingers were running well ahead of my brain here . . . I really meant . . . getting the "last" bit of stuff packed up . . . you know . . . all the "stuff" a 14 yr (AND 40 something too) female HAS TO HAVE to get ready to see anyone!!:D Even being out of the room by 9am is still pretty leasurely for me . . . gives me an extra 2 hrs than normal anyway!!!!!! trophygirl Posted March 12, 2005 #34 Share Posted March 12, 2005 Thanks Kathy, I am booked on the Celebration for August 8th, and I have read mostly negative reviews on the board. It is great to read something positive. Sounds like you had a great time. This will be cruise 3 for me, but my first one on a smaller ship, so I was a little worried, but not anymore. Thanks again

obx_fintoo Posted March 12, 2005 #36 Share Posted March 12, 2005 I've not been on a smaller ship before and have a silly question. On the Fantasy, they usually have one bar that has Karaoke at least one night. Do they have this on the Celebration? I'm a mom of a 14 month old and haven't done Karaoke in ages, but LOVE it!!! Any hope for me, or should I just get a good seat in the piano bar? ;)

duncanmaria Posted March 14, 2005 #48 Share Posted March 14, 2005 We sailed the Celebration on 1/15 and the dinner menu was very similar to the one posted. The 2nd night is the formal night and expect Quail, Lobster Tail and Prime Rib as etrees as well as escargot for an appetizer. I also remember that they served Filet Mignon on the 1st night which was, by far, the best beef offered the entire cruise. Avoid the prime rib, which we found very dry when served medium well and relatively tasteless when served medium rare (the only two choices). The soups were fantastic every night but skip the very blah salads.

I would love to see what's in there!!!! THANKS!!
peppervegas Posted March 15, 2005 #50 Share Posted March 15, 2005 The Filet is still the best beef offered!! (At least as of 3/3 sail) FYI - You can order the filet every night even though it is not on the menu. You can also switch up the pasta option (on the last night) to sortof make your own sauce and take out the seafood. I found 1 capers from my 3/3 sailing... I just have to get to a scanner and get it scanned in, I promise I will try to do it soon!
