We picked the port side to see the city and the ships as we pass them sailing down to the gulf.

Spirit is once again going to be very late getting in. She had a medical emergency and they are telling us to NOT get to the dock until 5PM. Oh boy, this is going to be fun.

That would be a drag, but if you have to have a delayed departure, NOLA is a great place for that to happen. Just drop off the bags and hoof it over to the French Quarter and get the party started! You'll never miss the ship!!

It's 12:50 and the Spirit isn't in New Orleans yet. It usually gets here very early in the morning.

The reason for the delay today:

 

"Norwegian Spirit had to divert from its return course for an emergency medical evacuation involving a guest on board. Because of this, the ship is now scheduled to arrive into New Orleans later than originally scheduled ...on Sunday, March 13, 2011. Instead of the scheduled arrival at 8 am, the ship will now arrive alongside into the Port of New Orleans at approximately 3 pm. Therefore, check-in and embarkation will begin at approximately 5 pm. We strongly encourage all guests to please delay their arrival to the terminal until 5 pm"
