galliegirlie Posted March 13, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2011 We are investigating just getting a taxi and visiting the Whim Plantation & Botanical Gardens on our own. I've read that others have done this, but I've not read so much about the actual experience about visiting these sites on your own. Are there tour guides available at each one of these sites to lead you around and tell your stories about what you are seeing, or do you just walk around on your own? What are the admission fees at each one of these sites? How much time should be alloted at each one? Do the sites seem overcrowded with people? Are the taxi drivers usually talkative and informative about the island's sites, or do they merely drive you from point to point? Our ideal day would be to visit the two sites listed above, then circle around via the North side of the island stoping for photos and scenic outlooks. Is there a way to estimate how much this will cost for the day, so we will know how to hire a taxi at the port? I appreciate any input
