MaryL31 Posted March 8, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2005 Honestly, I've never been to Cable Beach in my 3 trips to Paradise Island... and probably won't make it there on my 4th one this July...Atlantis is a great experience...the kids will have a great time...The Dig is a series of "rooms" and "hallways" that show Atlantis' incredible aquarium...but there's so much more than that...the pools, the waterslides, viewing the aquarium from above instead of below...my 10-year-old would rather go to Atlantis than Orlando any time...But, then, again, perhaps someone who has been to Cable Beach could advise you about it...Certainly, there's something about Atlantis that keeps my family going back year after year... scubagirrl Posted March 8, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 8, 2005 With kids - there is no comparison. Cable Beach is a beautiful stretch of beach with hotel pools, jets skis and parasailing. Atlantis is a waterpark, aquarium and gorgeous beach all rolled in one. It's a must see.. at least once. If you can afford the price - then do it. But get there as early as possible, there's a lot to see. Check the Atlantis website for details of the digs , slides and pools.
TrentS Posted March 8, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 8, 2005 No comparison... Cable is just a nice beach, but ATLANTIS is out of this world!!! Your kids will want to kill you if they see Atlantis (you can see it from the ship) and you take them someplace else! Go to... http://www.atlantis.com/ Click on EXPLORE THE WONDER, then click on THE DIG and you can take a little tour that explains it.
bevo Posted March 9, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2005 Can we just take a cab to Atlantis and walk around the property for 30 or 45 minutes? I know we can't get a room at Comfort Inn at this late date. Does Atlantis sell day passes? We, too, will only be in port from 8-2...that leaves roughly 4 or 5 hours of actual "Atlantis" time..is it worth it to even get a day pass (if they offer one)? TrentS Posted March 9, 2005 #6 Share Posted March 9, 2005 You can take a cab over ($4), or take a water taxi over... There are no day passes, and you can't go into the pools & waterslide area unless you're a hotel guest, or guest at the Comfort Inn... You can go to the Casino & shops, and for a fee ($29 IIRC) you can tour the Dig and Aquarium.
vossjemi Posted March 9, 2005 #7 Share Posted March 9, 2005 Although there are no day passes, I've heard of others getting a room if they have one available. That way you are a guest of the hotel, and can use all of its amenities. You might check Atlantis' website to see if rooms are available on your date to give you an idea of your chances.
