I have read the wonderful reviews by karen327 and ambc and concur with them on all issues..except that I cannot speak about the suite service because we had a balcony...maybe someday :>)

My expectations were greater than reality, but that was my own fault, I am sure..I expected a little more than just new carpet from the drydock...maybe new chairs or at least a repaint job on some...but not to happen..the new mattress was nice...

We started out with terrible service in the MDR, however...when the MD saw we were having problems...we were a large group.. he stepped in and took over..solving the issues. The food was OK...not great...I am beginning to think that they are downgrading the MDR food...non pay...so that we are enticed to go to the pay extra restaurants. just a thought..

If you want a great waiter...request Noel...he was charming and quite professional. We were not at all impressed by the buffets..but I did not have to cook it or do dishes..so how bad can it be...

We got to see a rocket launch as we were sailing out of the Cape area..that was awesome..

Also disappointed with the Guatamala incident, however it was understandable and our prayers are with the people involved. I also agree that the lack of information was irritating. A message on the phone when we awoke in the morning would have been helpful, then everyone would have known what was going on..

Entertainment was less than impressive and I agree that the final show was not for children...or even some of us who don't particularly like to see a man undress on stage, especially with his mother in the audience. I tend to be a tad prudish on that issue.

I had a fantastic time at the spa...Norma was wonderful and I highly recommend her...great service and a really nice person.

I had always wanted to swim with the dolphins and I finally did the excursion in Cozumel...mark that off the bucket list :>)..

We had several opportunities to visit the pursers desk/reception/customer service, and I would have to put them at the bottom of the list..not too service orriented or customer friendly...in fact almost bordering on rude..

did not "do" the casino, because of smkoe..so I saved some money, then turned around and wasted it on Bingo.ohhh the choices we make..

I believe NCL is trying hard to meet the needs/desires of a market and I also do not think "freestyle" is for everyone in all circumstances, however..we had a nice week away from cold, snow, ice, work and all those things

and I am now going to start thinking about next year

Bon Voyage

cowsinOhio,

I didn't realize my review came off as being that wonderful. Although there is never a bad cruise, this definately came in 4th place out of the 4 I have taken so far. Your right, the front desk people weren't very helpful or friendly and the entertainment lacking and inappropiate the last night. The lines for the main diningrooms were very long unless you wanted to eat really early or late. I wondered if the food in the buffet was left over from the crew dining area. Service was good in the dining room most nights though and we had the most wonderful rroom stewart. Also, those were the largest balcony rooms I have ever seen on NCL. Wish the bed was softer than a rock though. Next time it will be the Pearl. If that cruise is a disappointment, I will try a different line or land vacation the following year.
