winefaerie Posted March 17, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2011 Help...we are leaving in three days for the Spirit for the first cruise with the kids. So exciting :D . We want to leave tips for the staff at Camp Carnival but not sure what would be appropriate. We have DS-11yrs, DS-9yrs and DD-6yrs. Any help would be great. luvthebalcony Posted March 17, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2011 We have always tipped the camp staff that has attended to our kids on the last night. Kids Love that place and staff works very hard at keeping them happy, and that keeps us happy. we will tip the ones dd is most active with and do it with an envelope, kinda sneak it to them. winefaerie Posted March 17, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted March 17, 2011 How much? $3-4 per day?
T. Advisor King Posted March 17, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 17, 2011 Does anyone have any idea how well those staff are paid? My sense is that they're paid a more livable salary, compared to the waiters and cabin staff who are mostly foreigners. But I don't really know. luvthebalcony Posted March 17, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 17, 2011 Wife thinks it was 20 or 30 dollars for the 2 or 3 staff that were in charge of her group
Justsyd Posted March 17, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 17, 2011 If you'd like to tip them, then tip what ever you feel is appropriate. Tips are a personal decision, and most people don't agree on a set dollar amount. I'm sure they'll appreciate the gesture no matter the denomination. :)
jenwales Posted March 17, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 17, 2011 You might want to wait to see if your kids like Camp Carnival before worrying about tipping. My DS goes or doesn't go to the kids' clubs (we sail primarily Disney, not Carnival) depending on his mood and when he was younger he liked them less than he does now as a teen who wants to get away from us. :) We've never tipped kids' club staff. At Disney it is discouraged because the club employees are in non-tipping positions and we've assumed it is the same at Carnival.
winefaerie Posted March 17, 2011 Author #8 Share Posted March 17, 2011 Thank you for the help. Just wanted to save the cash for the staff if the kids had fun.
