fancy1218 Posted March 19, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2011 We are leaving on our first cruise with our kids next week. My son keeps telling me he wants to be the first person down the waterslide. Can someone tell me when they first open the slides? I want to prepare him if the slides aren't open when we first board the ship. Thanks!

lesleyswimcoach Posted March 25, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2011 I'd love to know the answer for the sensation!
imluvncruzn Posted March 25, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 25, 2011 We were on the Dream in January and the slides were not open when we first got onboard. The main pool on lido was open and the hot tubs were open. The slides opened shortly after sailaway.
angiegal Posted March 25, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 25, 2011 I don't remember when they open, but my kids wear their swimsuits under their clothes so they can hit the slide right away:) Most likely won't have your luggage yet and they don't like to change in the public restroom. We pack some unmentionables in the carry on.

k2excursion Posted March 25, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 25, 2011 They opened pretty early on the Dream. Lines were forming before we could go to our rooms at 1:30. I don't think I've had any cruises that waited until after sailaway to open. It depends on when they get their staff up there and ready to go. I'm like your son. I want to be ready to get on them as quickly as possible and ride them as many times as possible. Your son will never forget the Twister and the Drainpipe! The waterslides are definitely not just for kids. They are awesome!
kellbellscruise Posted March 27, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 27, 2011 We spent yesterday at Millikens Bar/Rest and watched sailway for Dream.. There were people using the slides already. Before she even finshed her swing around to head out!!
