Carnival Fantasy Tips

[type one mom]

We are going on our first cruise ever . . . on Carnival Fantasy departing Charleston. I've read tons and tons of packing tips (some seem like you need an extra suitcase for all the gear). :p

I have dramamine, just in case (have NO idea if I'll feel any motion sickness).

I have an over-the-door pocket organizer (plus medicine for EVERYTHING).

I understand we ARE allowed to carry on 12 pack soda each.

I understand we need to bring lots of small bills for tips (on and off ship, right?).

I'm trying to choose practical outfits that include formal dinner attire (avoiding wrinkles is a concern) without taking too many shoes (including a warm jacket).

I can't tolerate breathing cigarette smoke, so will I be miserable in the piano bar?

I hear to NOT book excursions in advance and wait until we arrive at each destination to take a cab or carriage.

Any other tips from you experienced cruisers? I'm both excited and nervous.
