First CD on the Freedom and all new ships is Ken Rush.

We traveled on the Radiance of the Seas, 2/19 to 26. Our CD was Peter Benfield.

Just off Grandeur and the CD was Ashley Kerr. She was OK, better than JT, but the only time we saw her was at the evening show. Skippy, her asst. was everywhere--as he was when we were on Grandeur before with another dud of a CD (DD). We did not go to the late night events (Quest, etc.) on this 4 day so she may have mc'd those. Never saw her out and about the ship.

Kirk Detweiler is back on Serenade as of 2/25 per a review on this board. Wish it wasn't so. We were not impressed with him on Mariner last year - looks like we going to have on Serenade this spring.

Just an Update on the Explorer. Clo O'Conner will be on board until april 9th, at that time she will Be off for 4 months, and return around August 4th. (She said her two months off plus two additional months she has taken).

 

I talked to her on the Explorer last week at the Diamond/Platinum get together

I am going on the Explorer in July. Based on what I had heard about Clo, I was looking forward to having her as the CD. Is there any indication who will be taking over for her?

On that list, you can confirm that Clo was on the Explorer on 3/19. However, again she will be leaving on 4/9/06 until 8/4/06.

 

She did not say who was taking over for her, but she did say that she is for sure coming back to the Explorer in August

Ken Rush is on vacation. He will not return to the Navigator as he will be the CD on the Freedom. He is one terrific CD. Certainly enjoyed him the 3 times we were on the Navigator.

By the time we sail on Freedom of the Seas in October, Ken Rush should be due a vacation. I wonder who might replace him at that point. We have sailed with most, though not all of the CDs listed on this thread and found each to have their own strengths. Some we enjoyed better than others, and some that we really enjoyed are no longer listed. I remember sailing with Bill Bronkurst on the Song of Norway in 1993. Nice to see that he is still around. Maybe someone should start a thread where we could find out where some of the missing CDs have gone.:)

We were fortunate to have Ken on our first cruise - Voyager and then again on the Explorer. He is a professional. He always takes out the new ships so that tells you something.

Funny how it is mentioned that Ken Rush takes out all of the new ships. He was our cruise director when my wife and I cruised on the Nordic Empress for our honeymoon back in 1995. Nordic Empress (now Empress of the Seas) was not the newest ship in the fleet back then. But I do agree, from what I remember about that cruise, Ken was a good cruise director -- very charismatic and treated everyone well.

We just got off the Brilliance yesterday and Bill Brunkhorst was there. He said he will be staying onboard thru the crossing and the first few sailings in the Med. He will be going on vacation on June 16.

Bill is a good one. We don't go to the shows in the theatre so I don't know how he is on the stage but he was all over the ship and remembered a lot of people by name. He made you feel like he was glad you are aboard.

This is the first week that Clo should be off of the Explorer - so watch the reviews for who took her place. In March, she was saying she will be back the first full week in august, however, there have been a few posts saying that she is PREGNANT -----anyone confirm? But otherwise I would expect to see her around the beginning of august (She said she has her normal 2 off, but then she took 2 extra months off as well)
