kathanderik Posted March 31, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2011 Nervous mom- booked the Victory for 1/2012, aft balcony. It will be our first cruise with our son, who will have just turned 2 at the time. My Husband and I have cruised RCCL in the past, picked Carnival Victory because of the ports and seemed more kid friendly. Worried about the balcony- is there any way an active, supervised always 2 y/o could go over??? No bars to climb thru???

The only way I can think of him "going over" would be if he climbed on a chair to see over the railing. The balcony door has a lock inside that should be up high enough that he can't reach it.:)
DocF Posted March 31, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 31, 2011 Glass panel rails on the balconies make it difficult for a little one to climb the rail. The balcony doors we have experienced have a very heavy closer on them and a 2 yo will not be able to open one. I would add the caveat that you not attempt to prop the door open. I see no issue with a small child and a balcony. Drunken adults are another issue altogether. Doc
