The beach was a bit rough, but still very warm and clear. The bottom is a bit rough, like rocks and shells so wear aqua socks if that bothers you.

You can also rent jet skis here, ride camels or horses, parasail, or pay for use of the aqua park. You can use the kayaks and snorkel gear for free if you'd like.

We were here from about 9:30am to 2pm and loved every minute! They do have bathrooms and shower facilities and lockers too! There were also some shops there but only a few. We didnt look through them really as we knew we wanted to do more shopping in town. To leave, we walked to the front of the place and got a van back to the main taxi area. The rate was $40 for a van that fit all 9 of us.

I think we were on a newer dock than I'd ever been in before because we had to walk through an enclosed duty free mall when we left and re-entered the ship. It wasnt bad though. It was definately one of the shortest piers I've walked in Cozumel. I know I've docked at some of them that felt 2 miles long!

After we got back on the boat, it was time to clean up and prepare for our second to the last evening... sniff sniff...

Love the pics! We were on the Triumph last September but I got no decent pictures of New Orleans, and was a bit of a slacker picture taking-wise the whole cruise. Nice memory refreshers. We actually went to Belize, Roatan, and Cozumel on the Triumph cruise, but did Progreso and Coz on the Ecstasy the year before. So, your pics are great reminders of both of my cruises.

We were supposed to go to Nachi Cocum last year, but due to some engine problems, we didn't get to Cozumel till early afternoon, instead of 8 am. so, we skipped Nachi; just as well because it was raining. We shopped instead and spent all of our Nachi money on souveniers. Mr. Sancho's looks very nice, too. Might have to try that next time we're in Cozumel.

How far was the van ride to the Slicer Beach Club? Looks like a fun way to spend the day. I'm still loving this review. You are doing a fabulous job!! Thank you

Thank you! The ride was about 10 minutes. It wasnt far at all and the van was air conditioned. :)

Tonight we were entertained once again in the dining room:

Then we were off to see the New Wave Magic show, which was awesome! I still cant figure out how they do some of this stuff. I was looking for strings and didnt see them! It was a great show!!

My hubby being a great sport and wearing the shirt I made him. Awww... he's the best! He wears it even though I forgot to sew the pocket on it. Oops!

And look!

So tonight was Carnival's burlesque show A Kiss Goodnight. A few of us in the group were obviously very curious about this show and wanted to check it out. Hubby and I went to the Club Rio a little after 10 to check out the karaoke and get us a good seat. The karaoke was awesome! It seemed like there were many singers since they didnt get to go through them all before the Oh la la show!!

My favorite act of karaoke evening:

Good thing we got there early for seats because the place got packed! The show itself was very entertaining! Nothing bad at all really. Lingerie type outfits with thongs and fishnets but that's it. I really liked the music. And the same magician that worked the New Wave Magic show was hosting the show and did some card tricks and such throughout the performance as well.

Oh and here it is... our last day on the ship... our last sea day... oh how it ends so quickly!

Today we got up early again and spent the early morning and afternoon by the pool. My niece and I actually used the water slide today. I was a bit worried seeing as I'm pregnant but after watching people go down I could see it was a pretty smooth ride. And it was. I actually think its more fun for grownups. The kids sat up and slowly slide down but those of us with a bit more meat on the bones could lie back and go on down. I thought it was pretty fun!

Today they also had some fun trivia games going on at the World's Way bar which was a pretty happening area outside of the casino. It was where many trivia games were played and bands were here playing often as well.

Also did some more last minute exploring today.

The Big Easy piano bar:

Internet cafe:

Today was also the Game of Love marriage gameshow in the Rome Lounge. I have to tell ya, we've seen this type of show on the Majesty and the Fantasy just last year and its still so funny everytime you see it. And with Tex hosting it... awesome, just awesome. I literally LOL'd more than a few times. Kudos to everyone who participated because I know hubby and I would be a bit nervous!!

Also today was the big watch sale! I didnt realize how big of a deal it was until I walked past the shops around 2pm and there were already people lining up for the sale, which began at 2:30pm. The sale was for like watch gift sets. For women there was a watch and a necklace and earrings (some included a ring) and for men it was a watch and either a wallet or passport wallet. These cost $20 and there were only a few left after the sale. It was like black friday! :)

The last supper... and no lobster bisque. Really? All cruise I look forward to lobster bisque night and it didnt come. Oh woe is me! But dinner was still fantabulous! I think we were all a bit slap happy this evening, especially my niece who was more than happy to play along with all of the inappropriate things her aunt tells her to do. I so worry what revenge my sister will take when I have my baby. Ooops!

One of my favorite pictures from the cruise:

Coming back through the Mississippi was another great experience! Throughout dinner we could see many oil rigs and ships so we knew we were close. Around 10pm I think we hit the mouth because it was around that time a pilot boat came to the ship. We also saw many other rigs and boats and tugboats around. I tried to take some pictures but I'm not a master at the night settings on my camera just yet.

We also saw our last animal...

Went to bed and woke up around 5:45am. And just like that, its all over.

Sniff sniff...

We all did the self assist debarkation and headed down around 7am, even though our deck wasnt to be called until 7:40am. Oh well! We had our bags, scanned the Sign & Sail one last time, then went to customs. We were through that line no problem and were loading bags back into the van by 7:45am. Then we were outta the parking garage and heading back up north. This was by far the easiest departure ever. Awesome!!!

All in all, this was a great cruise! Aside from being bothered by the Lido deck layout, I thought the ship was beautiful and I didnt think it was worn out or falling apart. I know some recent reviews have ripped its condition, but I didnt notice anything noteworthy. I thought the ship was very clean with the exception of the ice cream areas. I am guilty of some of it though seeing as on the first day I was pouring a bowl and it slipped and fell right on the floor and splattered on my leg. Yeah... I was that girl... nice...

The rooms do have hair dryers and body wash and shampoo in the showers. They also came with some mango lotion and razor samples. Nice razors though. My hubby ended up using one and really liked it.

I know some folks have shunned Progreso as a stop but I think it has potential depending on what you make of it. Yes, its a poor little fishing village and some of it was pretty sad to drive through, but we were happy with the beach we ended up at and I'm glad to have experienced it.

I hope everyone else has a great a time on this ship as we all did!

Great review! My DH and I were on this cruise also and had a great time.

He was in the Master Mixologist contest and won! So I know what you mean about the layout of the Lido deck. I had to leave my much coveted chair to go watch and by the time I came back someone was already sitting there! I didn't notice that the ship looked worn or anything either. All in all I thought the food was really good - especially in the MDR, and I was happy the weather was nice and warm.

Thanks for the great reivew with pictures! It brought back good memories as DW and I spent our honeymoon on the Triumph when it was new back in 2000. We are going on it again when it comes to Galveston and will be taking our kids. We are so looking forward to it. Thanks so much. The only suggestion I'd have for you is the next time you go to Cozumel, try Nachi Cocom. You won't be disappointed. We will look into Slicer for Progresso, sounds good.

Great review, I was on this cruise with my family as well but it looks like you saw a lot of different things than we did, so it was neat to see a different side of things. I agree with you about the layout of the lido deck and just the ship in general - a little awkward. I've been debating posting a review, but since it sounds like there's a shortage of Triumph reviews, I think I will.

Thanks for a great review. I was a little worried about Pregreso but you have given me some options and I will be taking advantage of that. I'll let you know how it goes. You did a wonderful job on this review and I am so excited about going. I was anyway but reading this made me more excited!!!:D
